where is the fuel pump in an 2004 civic??? is it in the tank?? do i need to take the tank down and change it or can i do it from up top?? any info would help!!! thanks!!!!!!!

i don't know much about new civics but i would guess in the tank due to the fact that 99% of fuel pumps now days are in the tank. and i would post this in the tech forum, not the lounge :thumbsup: gl

remove the rear bottom seat, should be there, from my knowedge, the only models on honda or acura that you have to take the tank down to get to the fuel pump will be obd0, 91 and older. i can help you and i doubt its your fuel pump that went out. i'll put money that its your main relay..let me know if you want my help for like 20-40 bucks. depends if i do everything

you need to take out the back seat to get to it. use a 10 mm socket to take off both the top seats and then the bottom seat pulls right up and theres your pump.

This should help you, Its the same idea as the older civics just a little bit different.

just put the back seats down then the bolt that holds the bottom in is right there a little left of center. then the front of the seat up an pull. the pump is under the plate in the center w/ the wire bundle coming out. your pump and filter are one unit. i just replaced mine last night with a 255
