lol yah thats been on the agenda but I've been throwing around the idea of going to a 2.4 turbo s2k. I REALLY want rwd and people are saying good things about the k24 crank in the f motors. The rsx is paid off in january and Ive just been thinking about upgrading.

very tempting. my buddy just got a 95 m3 for real cheap, not very fast but it sure feels like itwhen that thing is sideways non stop. made me think that drifting is a lot like golf, sucks to watch but fun to do. my boy has an ap2 with some bolt ons and it might be the most fun car i have driven.

Dyno results have proven better results from the 06 tsx cams vs the type-r cams on k24/k20 builds. Plus you can get the tsx cams cheaper.

my buddy back in florida had a bug eye wrx with some minor sti stuff on it, and with 150k miles
he put some sort of screw or took out a spring out of waste gate well anyway he was boosting double the stock psi on a motor that had 150k and it ran like a champ.

Pistons and bearings have arrived. local member is holding onto my IMG for me until im not too lazy to drive to chandler and pick it up lol. TSX cams and rc550 injector purchases have been finalized and im sending payment on friday for both. Talking to Joe at locash about lsd purchase, install, and eventual tune. Calling engine shop within the next day or so to get drop off and pickup plans set up, as well as all the details of what I want done.

I start disassemble within the next day or so, once im sure ill have all my parts in time for the reassemble.

lol no joke. as the car sits right now, it doesnt hook for shit even in second gear. I can only imagine how bad it would suck without the lsd after all the new parts. Right now the car can ALMOST handle a second gear launch. Hopefully after the new internals with the increased bore and compression ill have enough low end to launch in second. That should save me a bunch of time by eliminating the useless first gear. and when I say useless, I really mean COMPLETELY useless. Any k24 swap owner will tell you the same thing.

Long story short though, I might be waiting on the lsd. The transmission, aside from the clutch, is still completely stock and has 105k miles on it. Needless to say its time for a rebuild because my syncro's are toast. So what may happen is a complete trani replacement(because a lightly used trani is cheaper than buying new syncros and installing them) and an added lsd. Might stay with the 6 speed, might go with an ep3... I dunno... thats further down the road though and Im going to take my time deciding.

Car is completely drained of fluids and ready for surgery tomorrow morning.

As far as updates on the build go. I called the engine shop today. only charging me 96 bucks for the bore and jet wash!!!! STOKED!! I was expecting at least double that. Oh and they're doing a thread repair on my front mount for 20 bucks(tokyo speed pros/veritech motorsports fucked up and crossthreaded it).

I was referred to this shop by a friend of mine who had extensive work done to his entire k24/k20 longblock with excellent results. If quality is good and im satisfied with the results of their work, ill definitely be posting their info to get them more work. So far the guy sounded really cool on the phone so we'll see.

IPS k2's was my first choice. it seems to be one of the most successful all around cams for all motor and sc'd 2.4's. But the tsx cam in the a2 head see's excellent gains as well. Not as much as the k2's but not very far off. But the price difference is where the tsx cams really got me. 300 bucks for a brand new tsx intake cam vs like... 900 for the k2's... the added 600 bucks wasnt worth the extra 5-10 horses.. i could spend that 600 bucks on something else.

Dipshits bent the fuck out of my fuel rail because they left the bushings off before they reinstalled it onto my rbc so now the fuel rail is wedged onto the intake manifold. Now if/when I get the fuel rail off, ill probably have to get it replaced. Son of a Bitch...

yes, i know the pics are shitty quality but the batteries were going dead in my camera and I had to rush before the camera went dead.

Tomorrows plans for after work include cleaning up the garage, collecting misc bolts laying around, and cleaning the block and engine bay.
Tuesday will be block tear down. Wednesday the stripped short block goes to the shop for the bore and hone, along with the transmission(that stripped thread ended up being on the trani, not the block...). Then depending on when I get the block back... I aim on having the car back in one piece end of next week. Sounds like a long time but Id rather take it slow and do it right rather than screw something up out of pure carelessness and hurried hands.

One of the 3 police cruisers takes an interest to the sound of his exhaust and decides to flip a bitch and investigate. Needless to say, by the time he had caught up to me, ass eyes was long gone. This cruiser decides to tail me for THREE GOD DAMN MILES as Im doing 45 exactly, then finally pulls off once I get to my neighborhood.

Can someone please tell me how stupid you have to be to not see THREE GOD DAMN POLICE CARS IN THE SAME INTERSECTION!?!?

Its a hobby that I enjoy doing. Youve mentioned me not knowing how to turn a wrench twice now. Thats twice your incorrect.

FULLY assembled is a crock of shit. Wheres my fuel rail bushings? Or how bout the second starter motor bolt that was COMPLETELY MISSING from my engine. Every bolt on my motor was slammed on with an impact gun and now im having to get my threads replaced because the threads are either stretched or completely stripped and ripped out. Not to mention my flywheel bolts were never torqued right, my flywheel warped like a motherfucker and I had to get it resurfaced after THREE MONTHS. Ofcourse I was civil when I came to the shop, its called being mature and trying to resolve the issue. I figured if I was civil, you guys wouldnt try to fuck up my car while you had it... god damn was I wrong. THREE MONTHS!!! THREE WHOLE FUCKING MONTHS YOU HAD MY CAR TO DO A SIMPLE MOTOR SWAP. So Finally an update after waiting forever for parts to be delivered...

Motor is fully assembled... minus the pulley assembly and Intake manifold. Superstition Honda ordered me the wrong knock sensor so Im going to be waiting about another week until the right one is delivered. Im planning on friday afternoon to continue work. SHOULD have the car completely assembled by the end of next weekend, then going to locash for a tune.

Done and done. Just took it for a drive about an hour ago. Engine idles solid. It sounds and feels alright. Only issue is I ping like a MOTHERF*CKER.... Last step is taking it to get tuned. Ill see if locash has my old tune chart on file so i can get a before and after along with a video from the dyno...

ping as in the motor. The car can barely handle enough load to accelerate. Ill have a street tune tonight to get rid of some of the detonation issues until my dyno appointment this monday(sept 28th).

So ive got a little work to do...
A definite overall improvement from the stock internals but definitely not where i wanna be.
Joe said, and I quote, "I have never taken this much timing out of an N/A car."

Basically... 12.5:1 compression and the 91 octane fuel dont get along. The car will spend a couple weeks at the body shop after a 5 car pileup that ended with me getting rear ended sunday night.

After brainstorming with joe for a little bit, Im going to be picking up the 06+ TSX cams in hopes that the higher lift and longer duration will allow for more ignition. Right now, engine knock is my kryptonite...

Plans for the next tune will include a new Header with a larger collector, TSX Cams, and 110 octane fuel. Ill be tuning for both 91 octane and 110 on the same day.

yah the car feels solid. Its still missing a little bit and i gotta do some street data logs cuz the cel is randomly blinking on and off in the high rpms. Guessing either a sensor issue or air fuel in getting in the no no zone... I think ill pick up some new plugs too cuz these ones are pretty old.

all in all though, I think the tsx cams and new tune will be the last mods for a while. The car clearly isnt daily driver status anymore and ill probably be picking up a little hatch or something here soon to have as a daily.
