So I got a new toy this week...and decided to play around a bit. These are just a couple pics I snapped around the house with incandescent lighting. Minor photoshop touch-ups of course. Let me know what you think! I'll snap a few more tomorrow. First of all, these were taken with a Sigma SD14 D-SLR body with a Sigma 15-30mm Aspherical lens.

Couple cell phone snaps of the camera itself ;)

Here's a pic of some flowers my mom has on the living room table. Shot taken with a 2 second timer at 50 ISO and 3.5 aperture on a tripod.

Here's a random pic I snapped of a corner of my room with florescent lighting at 200 ISO and 6 aperture hand held.

Let me know your thoughts...I don't know a whole lot about photography, but I think I've managed to pick it up quite well so far. Just read the manual tonight lol! Thanks guys!! :)

Sigma bodies are indeed uncommon.

Not sure what you know about cameras, but Sigma uses Fovean sensors which means it's claimed 14 megapixel isn't true, however Fovean snensors supposedly have better color accuracy.

Oh, and I' personally believe that megapixels are of very little importance to the quality of a photograph.

Let's see what ya got (:

Yes, Indeed this is a rarely seen body and you are correct about the body housing a Fovean sensor. I too agree that the mp rating has very little impact on how a photo turns out. The coloration that this camera picks up is almost unreal. Sure I use CS3 to enhance the photos, but the fact that the colors are true to life before importing the image into ps, makes it that much easier and smoother to enhance. The pics I posted up are the only pics I have taken so far. I'd like to get out next weekend and do a shoot with some friends somewhere. I'll post up more as I take them. Thanks for the comments!!

LOL you just scored BIG in my book!! :clapper: Only a hardcore FMA fan would be able to tell what that poster is since the boys' images werent depicted in the series a whole lot. You sir, are win ;)

yeah that's a sweet poster... i was gonna say is that baby ed and al????

foveon is a neat technology, i still don't see a need for it but it does produce some nice results. in college i did a paper on the technology of digital imaging sensors... i'm sure i bored most of the people to sleep but it's fascinating stuff.

yup yup! well i wouldnt say baby...they were 9 and 10 in that pic. and ya...foveon is in a sense...digital film lol. im quite impressed with the purity of the colors this camera produces. Someone was using their brain when they developed the x3 technology. props to that guy lol ....or gal i dunno
