Going to be swapping a obd-1 Lsvtec into a friend of mines ek coupe. It had a sohc nonvtec in it b4 this. I need to know:

1. Do i need to switch all Lsvtec sensors with obd-1 sensors
2. Do I need to switch alt., dizzy, injectors with obd-2 versions
3. Can I just use a ecu jumper and leave everything obd-1
4. Does he need to get different mounts-stock bseries ek mounts??

thanx for help and if u have any of the above needed parts please pm me-doing the swap this weekend

B Series EK mounts will work.

I think you can just use an ECU jumper...

Looks like I was right. You just need the ECU jumper. And you can either use the 99-00 Civic Si mounts (aka "stock b series EK mounts") or go with aftermarkets. Another option would be performance mount inserts on the Honda OEM B Series mounts.

If the engine is OBD1 then the injector plugs, dizzy plugs and alternator plugs wont work with an ek's engine harness without mods to the harness. Keep in mind this is no EG or DC , engine harness stays in the car.The better option is to switch these items form an OBD2 B series vtec engine.

2nd time I have heard that....is there a difference in obd2a and obd2b alternators, injectors, or distributors...will either work?

there is a difference in the ecu wiring for obd2a and b. i don't think the wiring on the engine is different. but obd2a is 96-98 and b is 99-00.

and yes unless you mod the engine harness you have to use an obd2 alt. injectors, and dizzy. but you can rewire. i rewired my injectors so i can use RC injectors
