CTR yields a higher compression

What head are you using?

Before you ask anymore questions, please go to the Tech Forum and click All Motor. EVERYTHING you need to know is there

imo
i heard ctr pistons will probably hit your valves-depends on what cylinder head you are using along with the cams- unless you use a really thick head gasket and you are gonna have to put at least 91 octane all the time. with the itr pistons you are good to go!!!

wat kinda head???
go with p30 pistons..u will need 2 run 91 octane

im thinkin of using a b16 head. i would go with itr but too much money. What are p30 pistons?

hondafan2

p30=ctr
itr=p73

if you use p30 pistons, make sure the b16 head you are using it has NOT been milled to much and keep in mind that aftermarket thick head gasket. Never mind about the cams since i believe you are gonna use stock ones.

p30=b16a
PCT=CTR
itr=p73

fixed:hithead:

here some more info this website at b20vtec. it is proven that CTR (PCT) piston has the highest compression.

a lot of those so called calculaters on the internet are JUNK. i did however find a decent one that is pretty close in case u were wondering of some other setups for your ls/b20 vtec build:

here ya go...

^^^ u should thanks RayEG2 for all the info. honda fan got it wrong.

jdm b16= p30 gives u high compression below P73-A0

usdm b16= pr3 the lowest of the group just right below p30

jdm itr= p73-00 gives u high compression below PCT pistons

usdm itr= p73-A0 gives u high compression below P73-00

jdm ctr = pct gives u highest compression and only be used with b16 head to be safe

these pistons are the only oem pistons that will give u the combination to reach high compression.

gsr block, ctr pistons, gsr head,itr cams = fun. i had this set up for 2 years and never had any issues. and it got the piss beat out of it.

Your suppose to run 91 anyways with a vtec motor ;)
