Do you know how to smoke your own taillights for cheap???

you can use panty hose? Cheap or vht nite shade paint made for tinting lights.

mix up some clear coat with alot of hardner and a few drops of black paint and spray it...

They sell some shit at hobby lobby, don't think it's for tinting taillights but it worked good for my friend. Little silver can.

Go buy the Night Shades shit..... The biggest thing that you have to and I can't emphasize this enough.... HAVE TO wet sand the shit out of your taillights. They absolutely have to be smooth in order for the stuff to adhere right to give the glossy finish. If you don't, then they'll fish eye or look like you took flat black spray paint to them.

and buff the shit out of it, treat it like the paint on your car.

Its not hard...just requires patience. Go to Hobby Bench...Grab some Testors aersol paint "window tinit", prep the lenses, spray (Be sure to let each coat dry to determine darkness), then clear.
