i have a ls vtec with 11.6 to 1 compression i wanna boost but i dnt wanna kill the motor how can i lower the compression and what turbo should i use and how much boost... or should ijust build the fuck out of it and go all motor

theres different concepts and applications. you can do lower comp pistons for one. what do you do more with your car is it the daily driver ? or the weekend car. another thing to take into consideration is the budget you have to spend you can do a turbo kit and make sure you have rod bolts and head bolts and a good tune and be fine on around 8 lbs if you build it right and again most importantly a good tune


also how much do you wanna put out

mixedCRX on here has a GSR with type-r pistons, and it's on 9.5 psi. It's got 11.4:1 compression, and is his daily driver. He went 11.8 @ 118. It's possible to boost high compression motors on pump gas, but the tune is going to be MUCH more conservative. Rich with not much timing in it. lol. It just depends what you want to do with it.

Hey tj its thomas. And for you guys that don't know, its a daily driver and a collective built 81.5mm lsvtec. You should just do cams and build the head and a tune, you already have the bottom end done. Perfect reliable daily and weekend warrior!!

yeah what Thomas said bottom end is built. and i got itr pistons in it. its a dd and im not rich if that helps

^^x2 I was just about to say you're broke haha no offense, me too lol. But broke people aren't good for maintaining boost. Can't go wrong with an all motor car. Hit me up if you get the cash for that tranny

all motor it dude, get a sick set of cams and a good tune and you'll love it.

either way they both cost money. and if you build the head your going to wanna do full port and polish to get the best results and also cams/ springs/retainers/ valves/ valve job/ and a good tune either way both cost aot of oney to get best results so do what ever you wanna do man its your car, if you lie boost than boost if you like all motor than go all motor

and it really depends on how much your willing to spend

If you want a fast street car, turbo is the only way to go. All motor just isn't fast enough if you plan on using it for street car.
