try do it from the top.. just look for those 2 bolts..

Ugh.... Ok. the link he has of the bolts are the correct ones. Now you said you've seen them get filled from the top, and they can. There's a tube that has a rubber cap on it that acts as a vent. You can take that off and fill it from there. You'll just need a funnel. BUT, it's just as easy to access the bolt on the side of the trans. The pictures are bad and make it look impossible to get to. Plus you'll have to pull the "fill bolt" out anyway if you fill it from the top. Once fluid starts coming out of the fill plug then your trans is full.

1. Drain plug
2. don't worry about
3. Is a 17mm bolt that is the filler.

Yes... That would be correct. Number one is a 3/8 drive ratchet btw.

BigCountry

Expensive....

When I got my car it had ATF in it and that's what's still in it.

Actually MTF is just gear oil.... you'll need to ask them what they recommend.

10w30 works, but I only use Honda MTF from the dealership, its about 7-8 bucks a qt and you need 3.

The problem with Engine oil is it has un-necessary additives that can cause strange things to happen over time.

Its highly recommended not to use 10w30 unles NOTHING else is available, and definetly put MTF back in when you can.

It is the closest to what the factory MTF is however, just go get 3 quarts from a dealer.

Incorrect... gear oil is way heavier then honda MTF and will burn a honda tranny...

Burned my first tranny using gear oil

Your number 3 on there is NOT a fill plug buddy....if you fill in that hole its gonna be way to much fluid and will spray out the vent on the trans.

Fill plug is in this pick

Just get honda MTF. End of story.

You can also pull out the speed-o sensor and fill it there too with a long ass funnel. Just one 10mm bolt holds it on.

um sorry big country but i think ur wrong, i could be wrong but i think the filler one u pointed out is actually where the cover plate for the oil spreader tray goes, which should never be opened. idk most honda trannys have the fluid fill plug next to the passenger side of the differential opening like burner was pointing out.

get honda tranny fluid, and dont use any sort of conditioner, and most importantly dont loosen the drain plug before u loosen the fill plug, cause i had trouble loosening the fill plug with even hammer and a wrench with the tranny sitting on the ground in front of me
