View Full Version : Making a header shine without leaving residue?

So I have a Hytech Replica I bought off of Ebay actually. I've had it for a year now. I decided to clean my bay the other day and got Simple Green all over it. I tried to wipe it off, but it left residue. What can I use to make it shine again without like actually having to hardcore buff it? I'm obsessed with the Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish, I use it on my wheels, but I am afraid to try it on the header because it gets very hot.

mothersr polish and some 1600 grit sand paper.. and also before your start it rub it down in rubbing alchoal.. since that will tatke off any residue before you start it.

use alcohol to clean it...........

once its completly clean...take WD_40 and wipe it down.....run car......

wipe it down with WD-40 again after cooling .....run car..........

repeat......... this will cause the header to color better aswell as the oil burnsoff......although if its been on for a year it might not change as much

Even though it say's good for all metals you need something strictly for stainless

Never Dull works very well on stainless. i think Eagle makes it.
