DIY on how to convert! a 96-99 climate control
well ive been doin a bunch of readin up and ive decided to show some of my wrk that ive been doin to the car my car is original 96 but everythig has been converted to a 99-00
so i decided to finish it up by doin the climate control to a 99-00 as well

Mind you your doing this on your own risk so please becareful on wat u do and pay attendtion Good
thanks and enjoy it

Tools i used were
1) Socket Wrench
2) Sockets 14mm, 12mm, 10mm
3) Open Wrench 12mm
4) Socket Wrench Extension (at least 10in)
5) Extended Sockets 14mm, 12mm, 10mm
6) Philips Screwdriver
7) Pin/Hook Screwdriver
8) Pliers (to remove clamps)
9) A Friend.
10) Patience.
Conversion Requirements
1) 99+ Climate Control console with Climate harness (goes from console to heater core main plug)
2) 99+ Complete heater core Box
3) 99+ Complete Blower Box
4) 99+ Heater core harness (should be attached to the Heater core)
5) 99+ Center Dash vent (is contoured to position the vents to the right where the console has them)
6) Coolant.

this is how it was at first before i touched anything sloppy job but everthing got done right

Then drop the steering wheel down

Then unbolted all the bolts to take the dash off this is how it look

FORGOT TO MENTION U HAVE TO CHANGE THE BLOWER BOX
WHICH ARE THESE BIG TWO BLACK BOXES

Well this was the fitment on the old one OLD OWNER CUT IT UP =( my poor baby but she got a good one check it ;)

THE LEFT SIDE IS A 99-00 ONE AND THE RIGHT SIDE IS A 96-98 VENT
YOU WOULD ALSO HAVE TO CHANGE THE BIG VENT THAT GOES ONTO THE LITTLE VENT

YEA DECIDED TO THROW THE BLOCK OFF PLATE

THE FINISH OF ALL WOOSH WATTA DAY THAT WAS BUT IM LOVING IT AND ALSO RELOCATED MY RADIO TO THE BUTTOM

there are also 2 plugs that u would have to run a wire to in order to make the Defrost work good its real easy i will show some pics on how it is done as well just forgot to do this and show how it is done but i will be updated ya with the info so ya can try it out =D

yea i feel you people truely have to have patient and time to do this! but with lil bit of help time flies and ur done broskie

i dnt live no where near you im pretty far by wat i can do is help u step by step its real easy to do all u need is time bro and if i was near by i would give u a hand bro and just be like i want some comida =D lol

went perfect putting everything on. Car was a 97 and he put 00 dark grey interior. You are right about the patience part!

and also did ya connect the wire to get the defrost to wrk?

it took 2 days sat and sun. I dnt know about the defrost have to talk to him. Are you having problems with it?

No i actually figured it out becuz once u do this the defrost wont wrk till you connect 2 wires!..
so thats why i was askin so i can give you some explanation on how to do it and ill also show u some pics so u can sorta get the idea u know
and damn 2days thats crazy bro but atleast ya done!

its too bad all the hard work was already done..... basically you changed heater cores and put new vents in??


Good write up but for me, just not worth it... lol

if his write up seemed hard to you then you need to know all the work that needs to be done...

Parts:
99-00 Dash climate
99-00 comlete car harness encluding engine harnss (obd2B) or else your car wont start
99-00 heater core, blower
99-00 Ecu or obd2b into obd1 jumper if your a gang-star with obd1 ecu.

looks really good, cleanER..

check out the RSX dash into an integra.... pretty intense swap and fully functional.. its on honda-tech...

Not that I find it hard, well it is, I just don't see myself ever doing this.. If I wanted 99-00 dash, I should have bought a 99-00. lol
