im the only one home.

ok so im getting tired, i look in the cornernext to my bed and see my shotgun, havent touched it in months. so i grabbed it (in the dark) and tapped the trigger, safety was on, good job david. i was like "even if i needed to use this quickly i dont even remember where the safety is". so i find it,(keep in mind its been a long tiring day) click it off, tap the trigger again....

apparently i keep it loaded.

i have owned a few guns and am always responsible with them, but after this, i will never keep a loaded gun in my house again.

i was surprised at two things, one, none of the buckshot came fully through the other side, and 2, it actually wasnt THAT loud.

im all seriousness tho, glad you and everyone else are okay after it.

oh yeah and it doesnt really matter to much about finding the safety or not in the dark if its not even loaded lol

damn did u have to clean urself after it went off lol

nah but it woke me up pretty good, and i was shaking at first, but i emptied the gun and now i just keep the shells in the drawer

but like i say, when i shoot this bad boy outside i need ear protection, i always assumed if i had to use this in the house i would have trouble hearing afterwards. but, it wasnt too bad, lol.

the flash was pretty intense too.

duuuude instead of keeping it unloaded how bout keeping your finger off the trigger

1. Treat every wpn as if loaded, every time

2. Never point your wpn @ anything you do not intend to destroy

3. Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until ready to fire/kill/maim/destroy/ventilate

4. Keep your weapon on Safe until you intend to fire

If you always obeyed the 4 wpns safety rules this wouldnt have happened.

glad everyones ok :)

Darwin award winner material right here

If you own a gun you should always know if it's loaded or not

Dumbest shit I've heard all day.

Lucky you didn't blow your face off.

Wow good thing it wasn't something powerful enough to go threw your wall and into someone elses house possibly hitting someone. I bet if that happened your careless lil move wouldn't have been so funny....scary.....

I keep my shotgun loaded with 5 shells in the magazine but with an empty chamber. If the weapon is needed, a quick pump puts it into service and I don't have to worry about the safety position.

Thank God no one was hurt or killed. I'm sure you will remember this for the rest of your life.

Nice shot pattern on the wall BTW.

i never even touch this gun, i forgot it was there for a while now, i was just tired and wasnt thinking.

2 fast four door, i never said i though it was funny.

its a 12 gauge btw, its the 500a with the pistol grip.

under closer inspection today the reason it didnt go through was because theres a 2x4 right there. i couldnt even imagine taking that shit to the stomach.

First of all I'm glad your good and no one got hurt. But I got a better story to top that one a little bit. Haha makes me laugh every time

My friend is in the army, bought a beretta px4 storm, .45cal. For some reason he wanted to kick it on his couch with his loaded gun cuddling next to him like it was going to S his D... (What was he thinking). His lady friend was on the other side of his wrap around couch and he decided to get up, grabbed his pistol and slipped out of his hand and shot himself in his hand.

I would post a picture of it but it won't let me off my phone. And he's ok now btw. Had to go to the hospital and got reconstructive surgery on his pinky.

thats shitty but at the same time its kinda funny
i did a similar thing with my paintball gun a few years ago
i was sitting on the couch cleaning it and turned the gun on
i tapped the trigger real fast a few times and shot 3-4 paintballs at my big screen tv
luckily nothing got messed up
