This is the Aptera 2e electric car. The Chief Engineer is Tom Reichenbach, who was the Vehicle Engineering Manager on the Ford GT. It gets 200 MPG, has a 100 mile range, and can do 0-60 in 9 seconds. I'm already seeing TV commercials for the new Nissan LEAF electric car coming this fall.

The styling is both new and old. It is streamlined like an aircraft. This was big in the 1930's as aviation influenced automotive design. The 1938 Talbot Lago T150C SS is a good example of this design trend. The Aptera is actually classified as a motorcycle due to it's 3 wheel configuration. If they make this thing, I'm sure someone is gonna drop a Hayabusa engine in it and break some land speed records.

I think, they are headed in the right direction, I don't like the way this looks but there will be people who do and buy these, anything to stop our dependency on foreign oil. I have converted over to E85, I know that I am loosing a little MPG but I am at least using an alternative fuel.

By the way AZ needs more E85 stations.

So are you stuck with E85, or can you still run gas if you want? What kind of car to you have and what is involved in the conversion to E85?

Well, I have a turbocharged GSR, currently my car is tuned on E85 but I can have a gas tune and an E85 tune if I want. I run E85 at all times with my car, nothing really to convert, I have in intank fuel pump, 1000cc ID injectors, FPR and am tuned on Hondata s300.

That's cool. I know why you like that E85, higher octane = good for boost.
