Personally I am not a fan of the swap. It needs a hood.

x2 no hood or ground clearance, and i know that hasport (i beleive) has a kit out that you CAN run a hood with but they u have VERY little ground clearance. Besides you can make the same power from a k-series swap or a lightly built b-series!

but you get a usable car with the k swap plus u can get AC nowadays with them, ive even heard of using electric power steering off a mid engine car with a k swapped civic. the j series your out of space for any of that, and id say its not AS common? most likely? so there are less parts available for it.

and you corrected me a lightly built b series wouldnt cut it, since the j32a1 is rated at like 225 and the a2 at around 255ish. So a I/H/E GSR would have about 200 flywheel, maybe a cam'ed, intake manifold swapped, and tuned GSR. once again BHP not FWHP

Hasport has a v6 kit that allows you to run a hood and ground clearance isnt too bad cant be slammed but if you got lowersprings you'll be good.
It would take a Turbo built B to fuck with a stock J for whp/tq
and Hell even a K cant fuck with the TQ numbers the J's put out stock

If your looking for a daily/sleeper with ac etc... then yes B and K and H and etc.
But if your looking for power/tq to the wheels hands down for stock motors the J is shitting on the rest stock tho

Btw you still have room in the engine bay with a J, hell you can boost them

Isn't the TL Type S motor like close to 300 horsepower stock? I think Josh at Tri tech said he ran like a 13.0 with the stock motor in his car too and like a 12.1 or something with a small shot of nos but on the stock motor.

i've never like the swap, i'd take a boosted K over it to be honest

x2, i can understand the raw power available for you in that, but jesus why not get a cheap used v8 and convert it to RWD, probably be under the price of a tubo J and put down almost as much power to the rear.

i know, a ton of custon work, a ton, but take the j motor, all the turbo stuff, and the tune, and you might be in the ballpark or a cheap v8 and a rwd swap.

i dunno i just dont think its as practical and sticking with a 4 banger and still having alot of room left over.

Is there a way for the hood to be able to be closed? Every swap I've seen they have had to cut the hood or roll with no hood.

Yes hasport has a new kit which allows a uncut hood to closed

Have you ever done any searching about the swap? If not why are you just guessing and misleading people?
It a pretty easy swap tell you the truth this swap is just like doing a H/K swap nothing different.
The full v6 swap to have it running in a eg is less then 5k all motor with more whp/tq then a Kswap.
People on the J forums normally have about 3-4k invested into the swap and have it running etc...

Now take your cheap v8 and all the custom work and good luck having a street car under the cost of 10k

i personally think that the swap is pointless unless your one of the first people to do it its cool

The original video you posted is of a dude named Tim that I know. He has that integra and a b18c5 swapped "faux" type r integra with the same color. Always drives around with no hood. Not a fan of the V6 swap but he did do a lot of fab work. He is using an entire TL harness throughout the car. It's funny though because that road is basically 5 minutes from my house.

those swaps are so pointless.

ya the v6's make decent torque, but its not much better than a k24, and those with i/h/e have been making in the 230 hp range to the wheels. i'd take that ANYDAY over that ugly ass v6.
