Due to the unique safety concerns for this event, experience with autocross or track days are mandatory and attendance will be limited. Novices will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis for entry, please send a PM to ESpeidell with a resume of experience.
YOU MUST PM me before registering if you have participated in less than 3 autoxes with AZ region.
Supplemental Rules:
If the runoff areas are too wet/muddy, the event may be canceled. It never rains in Phoenix, right? http://www.azsolo.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif
4 Wheels off the racing surface off = DSQ for the day
2 Wheels off the racing surface on 2 occasions = DSQ for the day.
Course Map coming soon. Thanks!
Registration and Group Schedule:
Normal Event Registration/Tech Process.
Paddock:
North Half of Skid Pad 4
Gridding:
We will use 2 grid areas. Cars as part of the current run group will be on the main straight of the West track. The next run group will pregrid on Skidpad #4, which will allow quicker changeover and will allow an elevated view of the current run group.
Course familiarity:
A slow parade lap will be done after all cars are in the main grid and prior to each run group so each can see the course at eye level. One may be able to walk the course - depending on time available, but due to its length a parade lap will reinforce your knowledge of the course.
Novices and run groups:
Novices will need to have an experienced instructor to ride with them on their first 1 - 2 runs. Pairing of instructors with novices will occur before the event starts.
Bring Water:
It's going to be hot, please bring plenty of water. In addition to your water, we plan to distribute some water jugs out in various worker positions.
Off Course Ruling:
4 wheels off the pavement is DSQ for the day. Two wheels off twice in the run is also DSQ. The first two wheels off requires a conversation with a Safety Steward and retech if there is any concern about car condition. The DSQ does not relieve the driver of their work assignment. Extreme DNF rule remains in effect for cones after the finish.
