i always see this option on the dial but NEVER use it. think about it. fantasize about it. but never use it.

has anyone ever used that shit without any adverse mechanical effects?

my bay could use a good dirt clean up but i just dont want to use 4 hours of my time

any input appreciated

All wrong. Just go to checkers and get a can of cd2 engine detailer shiny can black top no need to cover anything just spray on and no rinse just let dry for 15 mins probably less now that its summer compared to when I used it lol. Can give u a example if my engine bay is still clean on my truck.

i just use like 2 cans of electric parts cleaner on parts i cant get and wipe down everything else with a damp rag
its easy to clean if u dont let shit get built up

ZEP from the cheapo Depot in the huge jugs then dilute, you'll have enough degreaser for a year

Works great ! Just remember it needs to be diluted , did mine for the Flag meet and it cleaned the bay up nice !

well i don't cover any thing up unless i am missing a a fuse box or relay cover . i use purple power and alumi shine. any degreaser will work. oh i like to use a steamer but your local car washes power washer will work

turn off the car let it cool down. you can warp your heads or block by cooling it down too quick if you let it sit for 10 20 mins you should be okay

spary the degreaser all over let it sit for 2 - 3 mins you can scrub parts were there is oil or grese build up
if it was as bad as mine you can use a scrubber that has the soap resivor you can get one at a dollar store there great for wheels n tires too . put some dawn in the res.

spray it down and repeat till your happy

now spray alumi shine ( or wheel acid) on all the meta let sit for a few but dont let it dry up and spray down again

and start to wipe down.

looks good?

now spray tire shine on your hoses or anything thats black

drink a beer

Iv used a couple of methods, when i first got my 00 ex, it was clean for the most part, but me being me, i got some purple power and brush and just went at it then by hand washed it off, made it cleaner, now i use the car wash degreaser when i go wash the car just to MAINTAIN it clean, so i go in, let the car sit with the hood open while i vacum it and clean interior, then push it down to the wash bay, still hood open, and scrub and wash car, theeeeen i set the engine/tire degreaser and once the GREEN liquid comes out i spray my wheels and shoot all over they bay:mainly the sides, firewall and block area and behing under intake mani. then i rinse off green stuff and dry it all off! iv never had any problems soo yeah..

in for pics of your bay!

Here is a picture of my engine bay i just used the engine/tire degreaser from the self car wash spray all the engine let it sit while i wash the rest of the car then power wash it i usually just grab a rag and start scrubbing it all untile it looks like this its a pain in the a** but hey its well worth it there is probably easier ways.. but do cover stuff you dont want getting wet..
