For the past month i've been planning on lowering my em2 but i wasn't sure if adjustable coilovers were better than lowering springs. All i know is that coilovers cost more. I hear that the springs are better quality and last longer, then you can get the matching shocks for them. I want the full coilover kit but can't afford them because im losing hours at work due to slow business so.... i want to get my moneys worth so im curious, for better performance...

Are adjustable coilovers or lowering springs better???

Coilovers man. why do you think their more expensive?
you get what you pay for! a good suspension set up will cost you a pretty penny, but if your serious about the handling characteristics, coilovers are the way to go.
Lowering springs are more for just the look and add a little better handling over stock, and cant even compare to coilovers.

Just make sure you buy a good set. stay away from Ebay coilover sleeves, they suck!

what are your plans for the car? daily driver or what?

Honestly you can get the best of both worlds. Go for raceland coilovers I think they are around 300-400 bucks and I hear that they are a decent ride better than springs/struts, but nothing out of this world. If your really looking for performance and quality then i'd go a coilover like k sports, or tien or something along those lines.

Ground control sleeves/koni yellows/GC top hats and call it a day =]

once you can afford them that is.

koni yellows and gc are shitty on these cars. not gunna lie.

full coilover will have a better longevity than lowering springs on stock shocks. the stock shocks will eventually blow out and with coilovers you can choose how stiff of a ride you really want and your prefered ride height. this is only true on dampening adjustable coilovers tho.

however if you want it to just look good, not want to lower it too much, and for cheap i would go with springs.

its just expensive for me at the moment kuz im not making as much because im losin hours at work n im helpin my mom pay bills. im lookin for a better job though. i like how full coilovers are because my boy has an 09 si sedan with the full coilovers all around skunk2 pro-c. I drove it before & it rides so smooth over every bump in the road without the bouncing and all.

for now a daily driver with basic mods. I already i put a type-r lip on it, then i plan on dumping it with the tein coilovers on some gab sport wheels/gt3's, black housing headlights, type-r grill, gut it. Later in life i want to go with a fully built frankenstein swap or i want project a h22 head w/ h23 bottom end.... for now i gotta stick to the d17 non-vtec

maybe if your not making a lot of money and your struggling you should consider putting off your dreams of your honda civic for a couple years and getting yourself where you can afford to throw some money at it?

what lowering springs put you that low to the ground?
most likely their cut, and thats ghetto.
buy some less expensive coilovers-end of thread

i finally went with the lowering springs &nd they arent bad... i saved some money &nd still have my stock springs in hand just in case. the spring are a no name but i can complain they still ride smooth. not as smooth as the full coilovers because you cant adjust them but im satisfied for now until i find a full-time job

ehh
i wouldve at least gone with BWR coilovers..
you'll get bored of springs and eventually complain about the height.
springs = waste of money.

Thats the outcome with 2inch lowering springs & some aftermarket rims I trade my gsr blades for... I would love to slam my car more but i done for now because I'm going to start on my EF Hatch project pretty soon

Man it's barely hitting your mudflap. When you slam your car you just have to take them like a champ
