What rods? What part of them are you "shaving" and to what point and purpose?

Rpm machine is closed last I heard and there valve job guy works for dave at scottsdale machine. That's where I suggest.

I think he's talking about shaving the little end of the rod to fit in the piston, but that's a case for the ls rod only last I thought.

Wait, so is the pin boss on the CTR pistons THICKER than on the B16 pistons? Or are the B16 rod ends WIDER than the stock CTR rod ends?

If you're going to have someone do that, I'd recommend pressing out the old pin bushings before machining the rods so as not to make them out of round. It's a good idea to rebush them while it's torn down this far anyway, just my opinion...

ya i meant itr my bad

but i heard all type r pistons need the b16 rods tobe shaved down 1mm on each side.
ill just see what the machine shop says

i did some research and came to that conclusion as well. rpm is scattered around AZ but the head guy in fact is at Scottsdale.

Yup he is a good man. Dave the owner is a great guy and does stuff in a timely manner.I go nowhere else
