Assuming you can put the swap in yourself, piece together a nice turbokit for $1000 or less, start with an ls block and gsr or b16 head, send both to tritech to get rebuilt get some arp hardware, and your looking at like $1500 or so assuming you find the right deals, and pay locash $550 for a tune, and make 250-300whp on a stock rebuilt engine that will be reliable and last you a long time, done.

I'd like to see a "nice" pieced together turbo kit for a g or less.
That's almost impossible.

how about reliable, not "nice" sorry but unless your making BIG power paying for a nice ramhorn/topmount and downpipe is a waste of a large some of money imo.

There's a couple $200 mani & wastegate combo's here on azht right now
$60 dsm 450cc injectors
$100 chipped ecu
$175-$200 ebay intercooler & piping kit (CXracing has some nice stuff cheap)
$350 used garrett/percision/turbonetics t3/t4 turbo
$70 or less blow off valve, ebay tail 50mm knock off or used greddy/hks etc

done.

If you are going all motor, get a USDM B20 block and go 85mm or 84.5mm higher compression pistons, and get it tuned. It will be very quick NA. I have an 85mm B20v and it ran door to door with with a 200whp all motor B18c ek hatch that weighed the same as my EG Si hatch on my BASEMAP with NO TIMING in it.

I am aware that was probably a run-on sentence, but I got my point across lol

B20v rs pistons nice rods all balanced. Good head with nice valve train and a damn good set of cams. Race header 3" exhaust and a locash tune... Might even keep some money in your pocket for some fuel haha

That's if your going na.

Boost is the only way to go with these motors if you want to put down some mad power but ...... MONEY play a lil role. Dont get me wrong with NA you can put out power too just more the other way. Just what I think.

Ya but a turbo car for a daily driver is nice but not practical. Too many problems vs na.

The problem with being all motor is people build them half as much as what they say thus loosing half the power they plan on making.

Don't get me wrong, I love turbo power, but summer time in az doesn't. Its just better to have another back up car for a daily.

X2, if your gonna build your car just let it be your show car or weekend car. best have another car as a daily driver

b20 got more power but lsv is better wen u r planning to boost later on. build it right the first time around and dont do any short cuts. kno wat CR u want to run especially for daily.

A b20v is an LSV with a bigger bore. literally. No other difference

Yes. Identically built, the B20v will smash, bump, and grind on lsV

/thread

EDIT: ^^NA of course

good luck starting with nothing and ending up reliably turboed B18 for 3k
If you are patient and have the knowledge and skills you can probly squeeze it out but its apparent you may not be qualified to properly do the work yourself, no offense, just be realistic.
Im building a B20 here eventually ill be selling it on the forums.....maybe ill even make a couple bux ;)
