NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO .

Thats the Wrong B20 Buddy. Those suck balls, and the vtec heads dont go on them. You need a newer B20 from a CrV etc. Im sure it will fit but its definitely NOT WORTH IT.

thats a motor from a prelude
they arent even considered as b series to most tunners since they arent compatible with most other b series parts
find a b20b or b20z off a crv

I get that everyone hates the old b20 lude engines, but they are perfectly fine for daily driving. I don't see it being worth the struggle and money to put that engine in any thing other then another lude. why the b20? kuz you got it for cheap? (wrong answer) go b16 or b18 if you really want DOHC. a SOHC d16 from a newer civic or ef-SI is even easier and cheaper. displacement = torque. if you want torque, go H22! or just sell your soul to the devil and k-swap that mother EFer lol

what b20 is it then?

assuming its a PGMFI from the US its probably a B20A5. could also be the B21A1. check the engine block.

still, the b20 is gonna be more work then the b16/18 and won't make more power. its rated at 135 or 140hp. b16a (JDM) from the civic SIR makes 160hp. or a domestic b18a or b will make about the same as the b20, possibly a little less torque. grab a B18c (vtec) and make 142 - 200 depending on the spec, motor number and year
lookin at a private party? company? local shop? importer?
http://hmotorsonline.com/shop is a good resource for pricing on JDM. check your local laws before using an imported engine, as emissions can be a pain.

Whatever you decide to swap in, stay away from the B20a series (older prelude motor)

thanks. but is there a possibility it couldnt be a b20a and they just fabricated the stuff

rofl, no there is no possibility of that at all. if someone was going to take time to fab a b20 into a prelude they'd just do an H.

the possibility is 1 out of 1trillion.

b18s are way easier to come by and there were a couple full swaps in the engine parts for sale. it all depends how much money and what time frame you would like it to run in. im assuming you havnt had a b series swapped car before? you will be more than satisfied with either, b16, b18 or b20. all fun and a great step up from a stock single cam. pm me if you need help. i can help out quite a bit. ive swapped at least 100 motors in ef if not more over the last 5 years. lmk
