i have noticed several of my customers w/ 01-04 civics, driver and passenger seats have a rocking motion. whats the issue and common fixes to these? seems to be a safety hazard im assuming and want to be able to correct it or even make a lil side money if theres not to much involed?

thanks

My car on my driver seat has done it since I bought my car 4 yrs ago. Its almost a loose bolt under there. I tighten it and it goes away for a little bit. But other than that idk what it could be. That's what it is on my car. I got a 01 ex 2 door.

I'm glad my car isn't the only one that does it.

Idk what else it could be. Try taking the whole seat out and inspecting it and seeing if something else is loose.

think maybe after taking the seat out, putting locking washers or even blue lock tite might work?

i heard that are some kind of bushings that worn off thru years

I would have to say something similar to this.

Seems like maybe the rails begin to loosen up giving a slight rocking motion even thought they are tightly bolted to the floor.

i believe there are plastic washers between the seat and rail that crack and pop out. that creates a gap where the seat rocks. there are write ups out there to fix it. remember to unhook the battery if there are seat airbags.
