Simple and cheap fix to a broken sun visor.
This worked for me, which was completely torn off of the visor mount and it only took 15 minutes to drill and assemble back together.
I used one 10-24x1-1/4" machine bolt and a 3/8 x1 fender washer(mirror side) and a 1/4"x1.25 fender washer on the other side and a nylon lock nut. You can use 10-32 or 8-32 bolt, what ever is handy. I used an inch and a quarter on the length, to make it easier to get the nut on, but will try a one inch later.
I drilled one hole only. No need for additional holes if you use fender washers. I know, they do stand out and maybe a eye sore for some people. I'm thinking I might paint mine and keep it since it's stronger than OEM and doubt it will ever fail for the rest of the life of the car.
There is a metal bracket that goes on the spindle hanger and attaches to the visor. It extends out about 1/4" to 3/8" into the visor with a notch in the middle of it.
I drilled a hole big enough to fit the bolt in between the grove, just off the center of spindle. I actually eye balled it's location. If you pry open the edge, you can see where it will align up.
Here is an estimate location and shape of the metal bracket. Sorry, my kids crayons were lost....

Below you can see about 1/4" of threads extending past the nut. I will try a 1" bolt, but the 1-1/4" bolt was just long enough to get the nut on before I tightened it up. So we'll see if I can get the nut to thread on using a 1" bolt later.

Hope this helps!!
