My 01 Civic project!

So the story goes, a friend of mine had a wild night last Saturday and crashed his 01 Civic (2 door KA4AT trans) into a block wall. He didnt have any extra money to fix the Civic (only had liability ins) and sold the Civic to me for $1200. :clapper:
As you can see in the pics its a LITTLE banged up!

This weekend its wrench time!!

Today I picked up a new OEM sway bar, OEM lower A Arm, and OEM stabilizer.
Also you can see his head hit the windshield....so a new windshield is be installed tomorrow as well.

Especially for a green one. You rarely see green ones. Doesn't look too bad, mostly it just looks like paint and scratches like he went through a field or something.

UPDATE:

Sat I bought all body parts for the Civic (fenders/ hood/ bumper/ side mirror), installed the lower control arm & stabilizer (the sway bar was fine), and had the windshield installed.

I also installed an Tsudo N1 catback system. I bought it for of $40 used. The guy said he only had it on his Civic for about 3 month....I believe him...there is NOT 1 mark on on it, just dirty. I will have the Civic pro cleaned after I am done with the repairs.:doobie:

Whats next.....I bought Password JDM fog lights & Lokakech head lights (black amber style). I am also thinking about HID, I would like 10K low & high beams but I am not sure about the brand. Everyone says their brand is the best! LOL

Just be careful with hids. Cause cops already profile our cars and with bright illegal lights your getting pulled over. But good ideas and can't wait to see how the headlights come out.

Ya. Aftermarket hid kits are illegal if there bright enough. I don't know a lot about them. I just know you can get a ticket for them being to bright or something. There was a thread in the lounge about this. Try and find it.

Personally I don't. But I've heard it doesn't really matter what "brand" get. Its still going to do the same job. Its like buying sparco seats, but I would get bride seats. You still sit in it. Just different name.

i got vvme hid kit from ebay, those are good, the temperature its 4300k and its the white and crisp stock look u should try those ones instead the blue ones (8000k)

btw u should done 05 front end conversion u had the chance and the perfect moment

Are your HIDs high and low beams?

I did think of getting 05 front end but I like the 01 style more....however the rear bumper on th 05 is WAY better then the 01 bumper.

UPDATE:

So I think I may have hit a speed bump today! :moon:
You can see in my pics (with my lovely finger) that the ??? is bent. Also the bumper took a good hit..you can see by the bolts that it moved about 1/8 of an inch.
Do I take it to a bodyshop or just straighten it out myself....well enough to get the fender on??

What do you guys think??

That's just the core support. It can be replaced and fixed if you'd like to do it. It doesn't look like to bad or damage for the body to be in serious damage. I would just leave it the way it is as long as the bumper and fender fit on there properly.

fix the fender or replace it? it has some damage and is fixable. but to replace it you have to buy the part get it painted and spend more money... just depends on how much you really care for the fender. it doesnt look that bad in the pics but they could be bad pictures.

So I am a little bit bummed! The new (driver side) head light has a problem. The trun single light bulb socket is to big!! The light fixture has wriggle room....a lot...so much so that it has a gap...which mean moisture/water will get in easily!

We will see how good Lokakach CS is??!!:this-guy:

2 and 4 door lights are not the same. The bulbs are switched if I remember correctly. It wills till work, but they ARE different part numbers.

^^^yep. Just depends on what housings you get depend on how good they look. Some aftermarket housing lights look better than oem. Some oem lights need just to be left alone.

The whole car for $800??? And all that's wrong with it is the head!! Ill fuckin pick that junk bucket up!! Good steal. Heads are easy on those cars. I did my head a few months ago. All 8 exhaust valves were toasted.

I am getting the hood molding and mirror painted but I think I am going to leave the grill black line the middle of the bumper. I think I might also install the lower bumper lip and leave it black.
