would it be wise or needed to run a gsr bottom end oil assembly on a ls/v assembly?

Oil assembly? All b series share the same oil pump, what changes is the pick up and the pan.

the girdle that goes over the mains, and the oil pick up and oil pan?

You don't need all that, plus, I don't even think you can just bolt it on. I'm pretty sure you need to line hone it. You don't need it.

they think im probly gonna be driving around in high rpm's. this is for a d.d.

Thats cause eveyone does

And whoever is telling you that has no clue what there talking about... its simply a head change, some small parts and a brain

so i dont need all the other stuff huh? just the simple stuff, right?

You need, head gasket, headstuds, rod bolts, computer, cyl head, oil feed & block off plug, machine work for the rods, new pistons or modified stock ls ones, new bearings for your rods.

what needs to be machined on the rods and pistons?

Mr.Burner

stock pistons should be cut for valve relief and the rods should be resized for the new bolts and bearings, the new bolts have a different clamping force which changes the diam of the big end of the rod...

oh ok. i didnt know that. thanks for your input and help. i appreciate it alot.

shot-peen the rods if ur planning on using stocks.

would it be better to get the aftermarket setup for the bottom end? i wanna make this engine be reliable.

Billet pistons are a plus cause you wont be using oil squirter's...

Rods are up to you, eagle are cheap and work but there kinda heavy for n/a, stock rod works just fine if used correctly

shot-peen the rods if ur planning on using stocks.

Just go pick up some Eagle Rods for 300. Come with ARP's, they're forged(stronger than shotpeened!), and are brand new/don't need resized or machined out for possible imperfections.

Thats cause eveyone does

Who does?
Not me!

so if i got the rods, they wouldnt need to be machined to fit the bearings for the crank?

to install rod bolts, inspect, shotpeen and resize stock rods will cost less than $100 at a machine shop
And stock rods are a dime a dozen.

Your rods + ARPs+machinework=$140
vs..
Eagle rods=$300

for a mild NA LsV stock rods with ARPs are fine.*

*Unless you drive like DBT then u need titanium everything

titanium isnt gonna help dbt's problem haha jk

but use the stock rod, just have them machined, or bring it to me for christ sake!

If I were you I wouldnt do it unless you switched to the all gsr set up with gsr timing belt. Its not much money really.

Mr.Burner

Waste of time and money changing the water pump and timing belt to the GSR stuff.

You don't need any of it.
