I just started teaching myself how to Mig weld mainly because I have a Mig welder that uses gas that was bought a few years ago and now I want to learn. I've been practicing and looking online at some pretty cool stuff, I have seen some really good Mig welders lay beads down that look just like Tig welds.

So any Tips or example of work would be awesome.

You only really should stitch weld thin material...

If you run your weld like a lower case cursive "e", they come out pretty nice like a tig. Then heat and speed adjustment will make protection.

i do an inverse "e" just cause that the way i like it

or fill stop fill stop fill stop, only once you get the puddle started and heat into it

There you go that works too, it just all depends on what your welding, how thick, what angle, gap to fill etc.

Here's the fill stop on a miller mig, welding 2 runners together.

This example was aluminum mig welding, the one on the left is push and the one on the right is pull, they say for welding aluminum with a mig welder you always want to push. To me the aluminum welding on the bottom is awesome work for using a mig and not a tig.

The pulling looks really good. However never had tried it, have done push all my life.

This is why I want to go to school for new techniques.

However I would probably never attempt wire feed aluminum, it's not bad with tig but still aluminum is special

Well I am going to keep practicing stainless steel and mild steel, when I get pretty good I will attempt aluminum.
