Guys on az240sx.org have done this... It works... Of course using OEM mounts w/ Energy Suspension bushings or full trick mounts (like HASsport) are better, but if you don't got that baller cash flow going for you this is actually better than stock...
...and I don't know about you but good chronic and video games are the cats pajamas!!!

i ran across another write up for this a while back on d-series.org(?) the guy did ALL of his mounts and said it made a worthwhile improvement. you can use different sealants too depending on the "stiffness" your looking for too.

the million dollar question..
CAN THIS BE DONE WITHOUT REMOVING THE MOUNTS? just curious..
SlowCivicHmm
02-05-2011, 04:15 AM
I'd remove em so that there is no flex in them...
a trick to this is oven baking the parts after the stuff sets........250* for 20 mins...
MAKE SURE TO TAKE ALL THE AIR BUBBLES OUT!!!!!!!!!!
Making these right is a messy process....but worth it.....had it on the race car........sold it a while ago.....
Am thinking making more to sell....I have like 100 tubes of INDUSTRIAL CAULK for ROOFING!!!
I now rock Hasport since I needed a "custom" tranny mount and I'm OCD and my engine mount has to match....LOL
You should definately take the mount out to do this correctly

these are just the torque mounts that are being taken off right? i took a look and so far i saw 2. my torque need some TLC. do i have to lift the engine or anything? sorry for the noob questions..just wanna do this right.
SlowCivicHmm
02-08-2011, 09:40 PM
you can do this to just about any mount on the engine...
if the other 3 upper mounts...you can unbolt both torque mounts without any issue or having to hold up the engine......
they'll be some play, but not much...1/4in?? if that...

first time i heard about this was on the mx6 forum. they have a torque monster 2.2 sohc that beats the mounts to shit after time.the mx6 doesnt have a lot of after market help as the civic or teg so they have to make do with what they got. this can be done without removing the mounts and if you have patience and know how to rig shit into working, wich half of azht can. just jack up the motor on three spots till its even and you have all the stress off the desired mount, inject away! on the rear mounts and some other cases you can hot glue or ruber cement a lil hose to a caulk gun to get into tight spots. make sure you cover the other side with tape or something so it dont keep spilling out. let it sit for a day or two depending on what the directions say

i think im gonna go to the junk yard and pull some extra mounts so i dotn have to wait 2 days or however long it takes for the silicon to dry. when they dry, ill put in the new stuff and fix the old stuff. ill always have spares in case they do give out.

have they hardened yet??

You dont need the bushings pressed out, drop the trailing arm and with a mallet bang the bushing out, with a few hits on the edge of the bushing. Not very hard. Ive replaced many rta bushings.
I have a couple broken rta bushings at my house, I might try this.

I did this on my EK's mounts, most notably the driver side mount. Its' been over two years and its still going strong. Also did it on the two little mounts on the frame rail... tranny side and the a/c compressor side.

How did this work out?? Mine are shot anyways and this seems worth the time for the price. If it sucks I'll just get new ones.

A can of window weld is like $20 aren't the es bushings like $35? I did all my motor mounts with window weld and have the es torque mount inserts...still holding up after 6 months.

On my ek I make a drivers side mount with hokey pucks... Worked good
This works great, I did this on some old ef - d mounts and they came out solid.
BTW the tubes are urethane are pretty inexpensive at Lowe's and Home Depot.
