I am posting this for a friend.

Norman Hamden and Susan Clark are excited to announce a long time coming, dream come true. A defensive driving school for teens! This school is specifically designed for any beginning level driver from pre- learners permit to those having a learners permit. The class title is DE-099. Depending on the success of DE-099, more advanced classes will follow.

According to The Center for Disease Control (CDC) more than 4,000 teens lose their lives every year to car accidents. That is 11 teenagers a day!!! This doesn't include the 350,000 teen injuries and nor does it account for the adults that get injured or killed from teen drivers. Look at this site for the unbelievable statistics --> www.cdc.gov/motorvehiclesafety/teen_drivers

We will be teaming up with Arizona Motorsports Park (AMP) and NASA Arizona with the common goal to lower these horrible statistics. Our first step in this long term mission will be to host the first Teen Defensive Driving School (DE-099) on Saturday Feb 12th at AMP.

One thing that all NASA members as well as all race/driving clubs have in common, is a passion for driving, a good understanding of car control and the need for schools like this. Safety of the students during the training will be of highest priority. In fact, none of the training will even take place on any part of the road course (i.e. race track). Instead the oversized driving pad will be the primary training grounds with an emphasis on technique in a controled low speed environment.

Registration space will be extremely limited for this first event and will be on a first come first served basis. If you have a teen in your family or even know any teens that fall into this catagory, please reserve their spot by registering here --> https://www.nasaproracing.com/event/1232

Parents or legal guardians will be required to drop off the student with an (unmodified) car in sound mechanical condition between 8:00-8:15AM to allow time to check in and sign all waivers. It is highly recommended that the car the student will use will be the same one that they will drive when they get their drivers license. The class will start at 8:30am. At 4PM there will be a recital where parents/guardians will be allowed to ride through the course with their teen to showcase the valuable skills they learned by attending the course.

We intend to operate this as a non-profit organization. Registration fees ($99) will go towards paying for operational costs and and making improvements towards future events. Your registration donation is a small step towards making Arizona roads a safer place, but more importantly it is a symbol of a giant leap towards educating our young drivers with car control skills that could someday save their life, or yours!

We want to take this opportunity to give our sincere thanks to Dan Maloney (AMP), Tage Evanson (NASA Arizona) and Marty Saltzman (E-Legal). Without their contributions towards this worthy cause, this event would never have been made a reality.

Your support and prayers to make this a success is most appreciated,

Norman Hamden and Susan Clark

Before teens learn "defensive driving" here in AZ, they should be required to take regular drivers training. I have found out AZ drivers aren't required to take any such training and it really shows much of the time.

Az divers suck, plain and simple! If you dont keep a constant eye out then you're doomed! Almost every day I have to avoid an accident. Its ridiculous. Too may idiots on their cell phones too! But hey, what can you do?

You need this. I have them on both my honda's and know of a few others down here do as well as I sold them and installed the units. People back up quick and it's fun on the highway. This is one I installed on a firends 07 Civic back some years ago now. You have to have an LED 3rd brake lamp though.

From research I have read, people respond to a flashing light .4-.8 seconds quicker than they do just a light coming on or getting brighter.

If you think about it, .5 seconds can save your ass quite literally.

Thats exactly what I need. Most of the time when Im paranoid I just tap the brake just enough to engage the brake light but not the brake so they get off my ass. But your idea seems much more practical. Will it work for the 3rd brake light thats in the rear window of the ek's?

If your car has what's highlighted in red then yes. It will work on cars that don't if the bulb is converted to an LED bulb. We had to do that to a friends Accord Wagon and his wife's Focus.

Perfect timing then! I just happened to buy a shitload of LED lights that fit oem bulb sockets. I have not tried them out yet though.

^^^^^^^^^ Speak of the devil. lol

1 of my customers I was referring to.

NERD, I will be in PHX on Monday for a job interview or next weekend as well for the Super Bowl.

The units I have are a 2nd generation one and I only have 1. They retail for 29.95 plus shipping from the site I get them from. Shipping is 7.95. Total of $37.90 from them.

I'll sell it and install it for $35.00.

If people are interested in them maybe I would do a group buy again as I have in the past which will get the cost down a bit more. I would need a confirmed list of atleast 5-8 people with half the money down before ordering though as I'm not gonna float $150-200 of my own money for just a bunch of flakers.

PM me if interested.

And another satisfied customer. Don't forget to remove it before you sell the car.

BTW, you still own me a trader rating for it. lol
