Alright guys, im picking up another DA for 900 bucks. it runs great and everything.
The only downside is, it has about 200K on it. i may sound like a noob, but i just never had the chance to rebuild an engine! i just wanna know,

-what i will need
-how long will it take
-how much will it be? ( im not wanting to do everything top of the line, just a simple rebuild)

and anyone in tucson that will help me out, how much will you charge me. (also keep in mind im wanting to learn, i dont want you to do it yourself)

thanks guys! just PM me with any other question!

and thanks again guys!

Do a compression test. If it runs good and is healthy there's no point in messing with it.
Haynes book will guide you down the right path.
My first rebuild was done in my bedroom with a haynes manual and computer.
Time it took... A long time, i was double reading and double checking everything for my first time.
Cost will depend on what all is replaced and the brand but I'd guess $400-1000+ .
Machining can tack on a fair amount of money if parts are out of spec.
The simple rebuilds i see are just
Bearings
Piston Rings
Rear main seal
Head gasket
Oil pan gasket
Timingbelt/tensioner

Can also do
oil pump
water pump
flywheel/clutch
all seals and gaskets
headstuds

I've never rebuilt a head so idk the price for that stuff
