View Full Version : leaking oil aroung head gasket? B16A

:pissed: ok so I just got a full b16 swap and was checking everything out when I got home..and I noticed oil around the corners of the head gasket....right below the vtec solenoid and the other corner right below the cams...so I wiped it off and today I see oil again anyone know what can couse this? Its not leaking bad to leave puddles on the floor but still there sitting on the edges of the block.......ill get pics up in the morning......i

Buy and replace #8 & #12, clean everything off again and recheck.

That's what I was gonna do replace the cam cap and vtec solenoid gasket as well

While you're at it, get #14 and distributor o-ring as well. (BTW #8 is the cam cap seal thingy)

i actually got all the seals to the motor bought the whole seal kit..im in the process of doing it right now getting my head all machined and done up thanks to my boy johnb20....replacing the head gasket an all the seal that go on this motor id figure better be safe than sorry and thanks for the input guys...but i still need to get the vtec solenoid gasket and that's it im doing the rear main seal and all

In the corners where the VC gasket meets the cam caps, use a small amount of rtv. Notorious leak spot.

Yeah by me saying tweaking its meant by getting shit done staying up late like tweakers do....I have never done drugs ever in my life and will not ruin my life with drugs or anything couse I have a family and wouldn't want to hurt my kids or wife in any emotional way at all.....

I do not know where to find gaskets for my B-16 JDM engine. I need #12 and #14 gaskets now in your diagram. What is a good source? My local Honda dealer cannot find what to order because I cannot tell him what year and what car the engine was in.
Will appreciate help.

^ yep all B16 motors are the same as far as gaskets go. Many from a GSR will work also.
