So i went to look at this " project" today that i wanted to use the engine out of it was a obd1 h22a on the block that the owner said was jdm
I dont know much too much about engines even though im learning.
the bottom ennd looked really good however it doenst ocme with pistons and the valves spring log bad too
it would need new cams too basically a new head save the intake manifold which was fine
Would this engine be worth rebuilding/saving if i get the whole thing for CHEAP like dirt dirt cheap or know it had a chrome valve cover as well that looked good too if that means anything
thanks

a jdm h22 would be an h22a
jdm engines dont have any numbers after the letter
for example h22a=jdm h22a4= us
it would be a big expensive pain in the ass to part the engine together
did it have a tranny and ecu?

The tranny was an auto so no go on that and the ecu was missing too, howver wiring harness LOOKED mostly complete

what jake said better to save up and get a whole engine just shop around, if you still think its a good deal look around and shop for pistons, valvetrain, anything you'd need to compare

i shouldd have taken a picture but i didnt want the guy to think i was going to come back and steal it
its missing the pistons for sure it has cams but they dont look in the best condition and everything else is there just teens some
TLC i guess

Like I said man look around for some pistons before you make up your mind or call collective they do alot of work on h22s they might have some parts laying around
