I havent seen anything official BUT in an email that was copied to me from Jeremy, Dave Pratte said that JC Meynet, 034 Motorsports, Snail Performance GST Motorsports, and FXMD were interested in being there.

He also mentioned that AFI, Full Race, HASport, and UMS are all invited but that was just kind of something for Jeremy to kick around to the shops. Geoff from Full Race already said they are out for this year but will return next year. I heard Jeremy Renshaw saying the AFI car is currently down but might make it in time. I would imagine Tage will drive again but no confirmation from him yet either.

After what I saw at East this weekend, I see no reason why we couldnt make each run group larger by about 2-3 cars. We managed I think 4 run groups for about 30 cars and had a mighty large gap between the first and last car and still managed to finish with about 5 minutes to spare. I know Jeremy has been chatting with Adina about some changes for TA so maybe we will see a larger group next event.

Also, that is Full Race R14.2. The other one I heard was sold.

I'm still waiting on my K-Sport front & rear camber kit and LCA's. Also on Monday I ordered my ASR 24mm rear swaybar w/ reinforcement frame. I just hope I get it soon and can find time to do it. Tough to try and do it where I'm living at. My complex is pretty anal about working on the car in the parking spots.

damn...24mm is a BIG bar.... my teg only had a 22mm comptech and people said it was tail happy

I still have the stock 24mm GSR in front. I'm running those K-Sport Pros 10k front & 5K Rear

FWIW: if you're getting the off the shelf Ksport Kontrols I think they come with a 6k spring in the rear, not 5k. Even with a 6k spring in the rear, you'll be fine w/ that diameter of a swaybar. 6k is pretty tame.

Its not expensive. For the amount of track time alone, its cheaper than drag racing per minute. And your paying for safety staff, corner workers, your instructor etc etc. Its not free. Sorry to disappoint.

The $40 deal is for Hyperdrive.

Hyperdrive is a 20 minute session on track w/ an instructor. You do not need to pay the $40 membership fee to do HyperDrive.

The $169 (+$40 for the club membership) is for the full day of HPDE1.

HPDE is divided up into 4 groups depending on your skill and experience:
1: Beginner
2: Slow Intermediate
3: Fast Intermediate
4: Advanced
The HPDE program is much more intense than HyperDrive. You get three, 20 minute sessions on track...with an instructor riding shotgun + classroom instruction.

I think people who are willing to pay $20 to go drag racing but not willing to pay $40 to get a taste of a road course are morons. On a good night, you'll see 5 passes. During those 5 passes most people will see:

* A little over 1 minute of total excitment
* About 15 upshifts

During a 20 minute Hyperdrive you see:

* 15 minutes of hard driving that will put any "canyon run" to shame
* About 100 upshifts
* About 50 downshifts
* Drive down two fairly significant straights covering about the same flat out distance as 15-20 QM passes
* On track with other cars with passing and being passed (giving a sensation you don't get with drag racing ONE other car that leaves the line at the same time)

I won't knock drag racing or any type of automotive sports. I view all of this stuff like sex. Would you rather have a 10-15 second orgasm for $20, or a 15 min orgasm for $40?

Hyperdrive doesn't come around all that often. Jump on it. Suspension that doesn't make your car sway like a bus is irrelevant. Hyperdrive is not a competition. It does not need to be done in a "track-ready" car. Heck, a few years back I took out my mom's STOCK 2005 base Focus hatch and had a blast at FIR West. I bet Tage remembers it. (BTW: that was a competition event and I didn't come in last in my class, lol)
