I just ordered a new HTP Invertig 221 and should have it in a few weeks. I sold my lincoln 275 a while back with the intention of picking up the invertig.
I have a few projects coming up so I will be posting some pics and my impression of the machine for you all to see..

I have never used an inverter so Iam super anxious to try it !!
Stay tuned for more
Aloha

So I have had the new machine for about a week now and I am very happy.
The machine shipped to my door here in Hawaii was 2890.00 and included everything needed to start welding except the argon bottle.

I am very happy with the quality of the machine and cant wait to start on the projects I have coming up.

Here is a pic of the machine next to my hood so you can get an idea of the size .

ohhh and here are a few aluminum welds I did.
I still have to get the hang of getting the adjustment on the machine just rite. My old transfomer machine had very little adjustment while the new machine seems to have a crazy amount of adjustment.

funny that you mention it because at first I was having trouble understanding what was actually happening when making the adjustment. I called HTP and spoke with Jeff and he gave me a run down on what the adjustment was actually changing.

At any rate I have been playing with the adjustment and it really makes a huge difference when welding aluminum. The only way that I can really describe it would be that when Iam welding a bead and have the setting just rite the puddle is super stabil and comes out looking really uniform in size. Iam used to having to back off on the pedal while going from A to B but with this thing its almost like I can just keep the pedal in one position.

It was really nice to be able to speak to the President of the company when I called .
HTP gets a huge thumbs up from me so far !!

I have been welding with the machine for a few months now and I LOVE it. Absolutely no complaints so far. I wish I could have had the money to get the cooler too but I will have to upgrade down the road.
I have been working slowly on this project but I run a full time repair shop and the project gets the back seat when Iam busy which has been alot lately. I will have something to look at soon !!
Bare with me guys !!

The HTP 221 is awesome...I picked up one up a few months ago after reading the thread, thanks for posting your review! Some recent work with it.

javier
glad to see that the welder is working out for you. Still no complaints from me on the machine.
I just welded up a massive aluminum gate which basically required running the machine non stop for about 6-7 hours a day and it didnt even flinch !!

One day I need to find the time to practice, some of these beads make me want to play with my little Miller Dynasty 200dx inverter.. Bought the thing 5 years ago and I'm probably the only one around who can't use it, lol..

Good work, Aka! I'm not jealous that you are turning wrenches though! :)
