I had a friend years ago who detailed and would make his own 'armour all'....

Anyone have any insight on a DIY tire shine/dressing?

coca cola? I thought it was pretty acidic i mean if its comparable to a car batteries acid, wouldn't it damage the tire?

I know! And that's what we consume, I actually tried it today and I have got to tell you it shines( due to your information about the acid I only did one) is it really that bad?

I have also read just buy a big bottle of canola oil, wipe it on a rag and wipe on tire. If you feel tire shine's consistancy it feels the same as an oil, so try some out on a tire and see if it works.

i was just thinking if i can produce a large volume of it with less than $10 of household items than why not. but if i have to buy 2 liter of coke every week, than forget it.
