Me either, especially because she lives for such a while in the comics. Its obvious by now that the show and the comics are hardly similar, but if you read a story with most of the same characters and then watch a show with the same characters, you expect them to be more similar naturally.

Season 2 is a little slow IMO but the first was enough to keep me with it. Not to mention that Norman Reedus from Boondock Saints is in it and he is a badass! Check out that website if you have never heard of it, you can watch almost anything you want to in pretty good quality.

Last night's episode left me mind blown... Laurie pretty much gave Shane hope they could be together, Rick shanked Shane and the farm is going to get overrun by zombies!

I think Laurie's talk with Shane gave him a glimpse of hope that if Rick wasn't in the picture he could take over his family. Shane was just going crazy, totally on a downward spiral of self-destruction.

Rick, no longer being the 'good guy', shanks Shane. I feel Shane was a great asset to the group, and his presence will be largely missed. He was however, a threat to the whole compound, specifically Rick, who is more level headed. The mortal confrontation between the two was inevitable...

Noticed that the farmhouse had already been getting prepped? They had put boards up on the lower windows. I think they can hold off the hoard of Walkers, but there will casualties.

Last night I had a zombie dream, in my dream came a strategy for defending their 'fort' and minimizing damage/casualties. I think they should lure all the zombies into the hay barn where they had the captured Walkers at the beginning of the season. They should all get into the upper level of the hay barn and shoot all the Walkers from the higher ground. This would minimize damage done to the house itself and keep them out of reach from the zombies....

Noticed that the farmhouse had already been getting prepped? They had put boards up on the lower windows. I think they can hold off the hoard of Walkers, but there will casualties.

Last night I had a zombie dream, in my dream came a strategy for defending their 'fort' and minimizing damage/casualties. I think they should lure all the zombies into the hay barn where they had the captured Walkers at the beginning of the season. They should all get into the upper level of the hay barn and shoot all the Walkers from the higher ground. This would minimize damage done to the house itself and keep them out of reach from the zombies....

lol i was just having this conversation with my co-workers and vice president as we do for a few hours every monday morning... we came up with a similar plan by putting the fastest person on the ground and send everyone else to the barn.... no guns though so that it doesnt attract more walkers which would give them time to regain composer till morning ( MORE LIGHT) and they can get a real assesment of what was going on..... if you recall in the earlier part of the show last night hershal speaks of the creek being a border for the walkers and them getting stuck.... he said that they where in danger cause the creek was drying up.... the walker itself being able to get out of the mud is proof that its not as sticky... even though the time is comming where better shelter will be needed i dont think its completely out of the question to stay.... they have been going in and out of town alot more then normal so it could be a pack of walkers from a suburb too....

should be interesting to see what happens....

The survivors survived the initial contamination. This original exposure made their immune systems create the antibodies needed to keep the infection from spreading and killing them. For sake of this argument, they probably at one point felt flu like symptoms from their body fighting the virus. However, they overcame the original exposure and survived. Once the immune system is compromised or the person dies, the opportunistic virus makes its way to the brain. With no functioning immunity the powerful virus takes hold of the brain and kicks start the nervous system, 'turning' the deceased.

In this theory, only those who have recently died or were exposed to the contamination will 'turn' upon expiring. Notice that in some of the episodes the streets were littered with bodies, possibly those who died from causes other than a zombie bight. The virus in these individuals had not incubated long enough to 'turn' them at the time of death.

Side Note: I kind of like to think about this like the herpes virus, it isn't always visible on the surface, but it doesn't mean you don't have it.

That's what you are supposed to think. Everybody should think Shane was crazy but the reality is that he was probably one of the most sane people of the group. Keeping a barn full of walkers on the same property they were all living at was stupid, he slaughters them all, and now the group is able to progress. If it weren't for Shane who had to kill Otis, Carl would be dead for sure.

Shane is a relatively realistic and an interesting character. Nobody knows what would happen in a real zombie apocalypse, but I would assume most would die by being helpless and unable to survive and I assume most leaders of groups during anarchy would probably be just like Shane. The reason most I think would die is because if you saw someone starting to nom on another person, and they person later became an undead who also wanted to nom on another person - most people with this knowledge would still make attempts to save the person just bit even with information on how they are going to become Zombies. Most humans from most cultures are naturally empathetic and will try to help others even if it means they are risking themselves. I believe this to a certain level, and the people who wouldn't do anything at all would likely be the very first to go. The people who wouldn't do anything at all would be the same type of people that rubberneck a car accident or watch as someone is making an attempt to take their life by jumping off of a bridge. The dude was right about a lot of shit. They beat that kid for days and he said that the group he belonged to wasn't going to be there but when Shane brings him into the woods, he says the group is just 5 miles away. Things like killing Otis seem pretty fucked up but he didn't really know him, and you can't just care for everybody you don't know because it's unrealistic and that is insane. (Plus, he was the one who shot Carl in the first place) If the group let Randall walk away he would have eventually made it back to his camp and his group would have went through and raped the group on the farm. Pretty much, if you have emotional attachment to people then you probably hated Shane the entire time. If you are strategic and logical, you realize Shane wasn't that bad. It helps hide the smell, and Zombies are visual in the comics in the sense that if they see one Zombie walking towards something then they will follow, this is how herds or hoards of Zombies are created. One Zombie hears something, heads in that direction (even if the sound is forgotten seconds later), other zombies take notice and follow. By the two zombies constantly not trying to gnaw at her, she can slide by a little but does get attacked or is quickly noticed as others. Her using swords instead of guns also allows her to be more stealthy than most of the other characters by not constantly getting other walkers' attentions by constant gun fire.

Plus, she's a little crazy and talks to one of them.

But yeah, in the comics, she quickly became an over all fan favorite.
