I've always wanted one of these, but the price tag always made me hesitate. Let us know how it is!

Ladies love the extended lever :lightsword:

Did you get a 5 point harness for the passenger side yet? (the G-force 5 point cam lock units are like $70-$80) If so, hit me up and I'll let you borrow my Sparco seat for the passenger side for FIR Main next month. For some sweet alongs w/ an instructor

I think to pass tech w/ aftermarket seat you have to have a rail that both sides lock on. Rhett almost did pass NASA tech at ff battle due to that problem. Somebody else might know more than me about that tho

Never heard of that before, and it's not in the CCRs either.

They gave me flack about my harness clips not having safety wire at the cal speedway event. unless it's a part of their local, supplementary CCRs, that tech guy didn't know wtf he was talking about.

So whats the theory behind the shifter? First it was short shifters... now it's extended ones? Serious thought. Please explain.

Still a short shifter. The extension is for optimal driver position.

Kinda.
The lower portion of the lever works like a short shifter.
The extender lengthens the rod, which naturally makes the throw longer due to having a longer lever (aka more distance to travel at the top to effect a gear change).

The idea behind these is that by placing the knob closer to your hand it allows you more time with your hands on the steering wheel to make steering inputs than a traditional shifter. (probably a really cool mod for autocrossers or roadricers in certain sections of tracks where you don't have alot of time to get your gear change done and then continue working the steering wheel)
I would also assume that the pros of having a shorter throw (due to the lower portion) and not having to move your hand as far to start and finish the shift motion is an overall gain in relation to the slightly longer throw the top portion of the shifter adds.
