i was on a time crunch... it is what it is. I guess the guys head is getting sent off to CNC to be ported, along with the intake to be matched.

car made 650 hp on 32 psi, 6262... stock head 0.o

i like the mani! you should be the first one to make a D17A2 aftermarket mani, i;d pick it up in a heart beat!

well the problem with d series is that their head ports are so close together. idealy i need to make a custom one with the stock runners and then have it casted.

I've made them from the flange up... Im not exactly sure I follow what you're talking about. You're saying you're going to build a manifold but use stock runners than have it cast? Maybe its me but that doesn't make sense. Ideally id figure you'd build the entire manifold custom flange runners baseplate plenum tb flange. Or design one in a cad program machine blanks and have it casted from their.

there's really no point to use the billet runners we already use, mainly because of the head ports and bore size on d series won't accommodate that much volume. what i was hinting to was making a manifold off the stock style runners ( heavily ported like the way i did it on the pictures above) and have the whole thing casted like that. what i made obviously worked very well from the power it made...and if it was casted it would fall into the small budgets that most d series guys have.

wait so because it has smaller ports you're saying it won't accommodate a tapered/larger runner? Its a proven fact that a tapered runner speeds up velocity. Or is it because there's only one cam. Haha. Im not saying use a huge diameter runner. Were talking custom. Not what we both used in the past. If you saying the port size won't accommodate a larger runner why port the stock ones? And why build a bigger plenum for that matter. Ya it worked. The car made power. But so did indubs car on a stock tb. Its always cool to make shit. Alls I was saying was why go through the trouble to have a part cast but use stock runners. Maybe its me but thats not what I think of as idealy. Im not bashing you man. Just talking wih ya. =)

i see what you're saying. if i ever get the time to do another one i'll try from scratch. i only had one chance at the other one and like 2 days to do it. with that and the other projects we had drop in our lap i think i did the best i could with the time frame. if i do decide to cast it, i'll keep in mind the better runner design.
