so here are new pix of my puppy jade and my other boy diesel. i would love to see other pix of pits so maybe make this the unofficial american pit bull terrier thread. i know there is already a thread for pets but let's throw just some pits on this one :0

jade just got her ears cut so they are in the process of healing which is the last few at the end. the rest are the night before she got her ears clipped i had to take like a thousand pix before she got them things cut. both dogs are spoiled rotten and have bed and shottie priveleges in the car.

yeah he was awesome...that was the one I had to give back cuz he was sick. It made me sad as fuck even though I had only for like 3 or 4 days, he was already jumpin on me and lickin me and shit every time I saw him, following me everywhere I went. He was the opposite of all the 'bad pit bull qualities'...if I tried touching him while he ate, he would just stop eating and start licking my hand. When we went to the park, all he wanted to do was play with the other dogs and he would stop to play with little kids...he was badass :cry:

i got em done here in tucson at broadway... most all vets will do them (not all tho) they run u about 300 + most of the time 350 + depending on how old they are, there is a place in phoenix that laser cuts their ears which mean no stitches and hardly any healing/down time, that'll cost you 1200 tho.

it is saturday and sunday probably starts around 10 or 9. the place is called lost acres or empty acres. it is more a equestrien place then a dog place. very easy to get to. go west on I-10 exit MILLER rd. go south. through 3 stop signs and it will be on your right hand side. it is probably 5 miles off freeway.

go to the humane society lol...they usually always have 2 or 3 pits to choose from for an adoption fee of 80 bucks (if the dog is 5 months or older, if they are younger than 5 months it's like 120)

depends on a lot of shit... color, bloodline, and if they are registered or not. i've seen blue muglestone pits sell for up to 6 grand! blues are usually the most expensive, because they are not common. normally your gonna pay from 800-1500 for a papered blue. other papered dogs i've seen go for as lil as 200, if u just want a pit with no papers, u can probly pick em up for 100 easy even cheaper sometimes. GL and if u get one please don't be a dick head with it :0

Well the 2 that have there ears clipped we got those done in cali and there medium height .. i dont think they look to good if there real pointy at the top but the one that doesn't have her ears clipped she's the vicious ones she'll fight with the other dogs..... she has to have all the attention.... but there kewl and well trained.....

well GL the training looks like a lot of fun for dogs and owners. i want to try and get into that shit too imo it's really good for the relationship between animal and owner. they understand what u want better and u don't have to stress and yell at them cause they understand you better.

yea it's cool there is actually nothing wrong with having pups that young, the body of the momma is small so the puppy will dvelop smaller. but the biggest thing about having pups that early is the mom is still too young and usually doesn't properly care for the pups, this is where the burden of the owner comes in and u gotta help take of the pups sometimes even seperate mother from children.

for sure sounds abuse. if i was you i would be careful, some dogs are good with dealing with that and others are. if the dog turns on you. u have the previous owners to blame depending on how u treat that dog. pits attack less people than labs and cocker spaniels but the bully breeds get the worst rap because of the damage they can inflict.

Abused pitbulls can be very touchy. So can buying non-papered / inbred pits. Be very careful in your choice of a pitbull guys. They are great dogs, but due to so many people abusing them and their lineage it can get bad if you don't have experience with them.

Abused pitbulls can be very touchy. So can buying non-papered / inbred pits. Be very careful in your choice of a pitbull guys. They are great dogs, but due to so many people abusing them and their lineage it can get bad if you don't have experience with them.

thats not my dog but my dog zeus does that too. just get something and let them play with it all the time. then take it and tease them with it. (i use jeans) after you tease them they want it so hang it and once they get it they wont want to let go. thats what i did and it worked.

ummm... i actually been through a couple.

i started on eukanuba, then went to nutro max, then to nutro natural choice, and now i finally think i found the right food. it's called somethin earth... i'll have to get the name for you. but they don't have it in normal pet stores. it's some all natural shit, but my girl loves it! and they say if u see no improvement in dogs coat amount of shedding etc. give them back waht ever food u have left and they will completely refund you. a lil pricey, bout 50 beans a bag, but i pay 60 and they deliver it to my crib. good shit right there

nutro is good food for the bracket it's in. when u start spending $40+ a bag then u start to get in seriously good nutritional food for the dogs. like blue buffalo, earth bound (i believe is what's it called) is all really good, but u gotta spend the loot. like blue buffalo all the their meat has to pass the same inspection that our food has to go through before it hits the grocery aisles. do ur research and read labels, u can find way better food that what they sell in commercial pet stores.

i felt sooooooo bad after i did it, seeing her all bleeding and stitched up :(

but they came out good in the end.

they say to do them before they hit 6 months cause then the chance on them standing up is better. + the longer u wait the more they charge.

but there is this place in phoenix that cuts them with lasers, so u can do it when ur dog is full grown so u can see exactly how big their head is gonna be but they charge 1200 :( but is no healing time cause the laser closes the wound and there is not as much scarring :thumbup:

Werd, that sucks man, that's probably a part of the reason why I like big, strong dogs like pit bulls, rottweilers, german shepherds, boxers, etc. is because of all the shit they get for no reason at all. I remember bein' at the Humane Society with a few of my cousins, my sister and my mom...I went to this absolutely HUGE rottie named Bear and everybody yelled as I made my way over like, "No, look how big and mean he looks...stay away" and all that crap. He was probably the nicest one of all the dogs they had there.

oh and myegnme homie the rednose just so you know a lil bit of the background of the word rednose, is not a form of pitbull. american yes, rednose no. rednose was a breed way back i nthe day that when the dogs came out they had rednoses. the term rednose then was brouh t upon all pits that came out with a rednose. my dog has a rednose but is not a real rednose breed. people get mixed when you say is he a rednose and they say no but he has an actual rednose. its because he is not the rednose breed. he just has a dark red or pinkish nose. just a feature color. american yes, and thats basically it. enless you have a specific breed then you can state that after.

and i believe they stop growing at about 1.5 years, but when they have pups or stud them out they will have their last lil growth spurt where they will get wider not taller.

my pit eats regular old gravy train lolz. stuff like that.

i work him out every other day andmakes sure he gets his excerise and play time.

i also feed him vitamins so i guess as long as you feed him or her and work him or her out and not just keep them locked up in a kennel anything can work food. yes except cheap food because my dog knows what cheap is and didnt eat nothing when i got him a $5 bag of garbage! lolz.

i think pits stop growing when the reach adult hood at about 2 years , and yes they do have a growth spurt when you stud them .

right now i have my dude on suppliments and nutrient goat milk and working him everyday for like 20 minutes to get him cut and a tiny thicker.

there is a bunch of shit u can do.

the shampoo is good for like once a month preventative type thing but there are stronger "medications" u can use. but u gotta start her fresh man. soooooooo...

1. pull all the ticks off her with a pair of tweezers or needle noise plyers (for the mechanic in us)

or

2. take her to the vet and have her dipped for flees. i think they walk the dog through a large container that is filled with the flea and tick killer (better imo if u have the money cause it'll kill more than just ticks, also is more therough than gettin em by hand)

then use a topical anti tick and flea medication. advantage is one. idk too many other brands but ask people in the pet store and they should know the good shit.

only thing if ur dog is a young one. stay away from the dip and the strong topical medications. if she's a puppy just get em by hand and give her a bath in that shampoo once a month and watch her and take any off u see by hand.

puppies have sensative immune systems. not to mention skin. so frequently washing ur dog or using strong medication at a young age = no bueno
