My friend has a 2001 Honda civic lx 1.7 auto..alternator bolts loosened up and caused the car
To go into limp mode the green immobilizer light flashes and CEL is on also the gauges don't work...I did my research on all data and there is a TSB on it about having to replace the ecm...i have power going to the ECM and ground...anybody have this problem and if I need the ECM anybody knw where I can get it and flashed...I'm not trying to go to the dealer...thank you

I don't think they're related. I had that bolt back out once. Nothing else happened.

When it happened we where on the I 10 in California heard a loud noise and the car went into that mode..it wont go over 20-30 mph... The bolts got tightened but it doesn't go out of that stage...the scanner does not read and I already tried disconnecting the battery and removing the ECM fuse

Limp mode is usually defined by a 4k rpm cutoff. Is that what you're experiencing?

Have you tried chargeing the battery when the bolts on the alternater loosed it probbly wasn't charging your battery so now your battery low. Worth a try

Next time you refuel drop 2 pills of Extenze in the tank. Fill to the top. It will cure your limp mode problem.

Did you try just a simple reset of the ECM?
