Just curious on how much would something like this cost? Let's say on my 94 civic hatchback

EchelonAuto
10-09-2012, 03:27 PM
Pricing for full wraps starts at $899 (Small 2 Door Coupe using Avery Films, Standard Gloss & Matte colors) and then goes up from there depending on the vehicle and brand of film used/color combination. The possibilities are really endless when it comes to doing a custom wrap so pricing varies with every job depending on what the customer wants.

To answer your question, your 94 Civic Hatch would be that $899 Category.

EchelonAuto
10-16-2012, 12:22 PM
The higher end films that we use such as 3M, Oracal and Avery last 5-7 years when installed correctly. So you will definately get some use and longevity. There are also products we sell which allow you to keep the vinyl looking brand new year after year if it ever does start to oxidize or accumulate small scratches(Vinyl Specific Polishes and quick detailers)

Awesome work guys. I might need some wraps done on a few upcoming Porsche builds.

Best of luck to you guys. This site has a lot of cheap kids, but honestly $899 is fair for an entire vinyl wrap. For those paying $900 for a full paint job.... obviously have never had a quality paint job.

Thanks for the props! Would love to work with you guys on any future builds you have going on if the chance arises. My thoughts exactly on the $900 paint job. $899 is offering a deal and beats the $2k-3k some places charge depending on vehicle.

I've tried two different kinds of clear coat. It reacts a little abnormally at first but after sitting for about 24 hours it doesnt seem to look bad but by no means perfect either. Going to try it again and see how it turns out, snap a few pics and post it up for you. Im not sure an actual Gloss overlaminate would work because the Carbon material isnt flat like the gloss where you can just laminate right over it. The carbon has grooves and a texture to it so it may not adhere an overlaminate correctly.

Yes you can wash it with the same soap/water you would use to wash it now. It is highly recommended to hand wash it only though and not use a pressure washer. With a pressure washer you can always run the risk of accidently catching an edge and ruining the wrap. Not that it would because the edges seal up pretty tight but its better to avoid the risk all together. You can use polishes and waxes and keep the shine and get rid of any small scratches or oxidation as well as time goes on. There are so many products out there to keep them in the best condition you can and the technology in the vinyl is pretty amazing which is why wrapping is considered a paint alternative because you can get it to look as if the car was painted eventhough it wasnt.

Is there a metalic white?

How does the adhesive of this stuff compare to clear bra? I took some old clearbra off a car before and it was a fucking nightmare. I would be worried about all the residual glue left behind after removing it.

EchelonAuto
12-10-2012, 01:53 PM
There is not a Metallic White(Pretty much the one color that isnt made in Metallic). The closest you can get to that would be the Pearl White which has that appearance of the pearl in it which gives it a slightly metallic look. The one thing about the Pearl white though is that it isnt fully opaque so there quite possibly could be a slight bleed through of the original color where material needs to be streched a bit more then other areas. The adhesive itself is a strong adhesive but when removed should not leave any glue residue behind. The only time it might leave some residue behind is if there had been a vinyl primer applied before the vinyl was installed. The vinyl primer pretty much increases the adhesion to a surface, but that generally isnt used unless the cars panels arent in great shape or on non painted surfaces such as body kits and so forth. A car in good clean condition does not need the stuff applied beforehand. Vinyls are completely different then clear bra material.

Another wrap completed on our good customers 335i. He opted to go with a few small additions to set his car apart from the rest. The ideas were taken from the new 335i M Sport Editions with the Matte Black Skirts and Front Splitter. He wanted to mimic that look so we did Matte Black accents on the side skirts and front bumper along with doing the roof and mirrors in gloss black.

Can you guys custom print something on vinyl or only the pre made vinyls?

We dont have the ability to custom print anything onto vinyl right now but if you were to have a sign shop or graphics shop print something out for you we could by all means install it on your vehicle for you.

This is the latest project to leave us. A Veilside RX-7. This car was purchased by a new owner and he came to us wanting to get rid of the Purple/Black exterior it had going on. The body of this car was very neglected and had numerous problems including chipping and cracking paint and then even chunks actually missing in certain areas. Now not having the ability to sand the entire car down and make the body nice and smooth again due to the customers budget concerns, we took on the task of doing some light bodywork to fix and knock down some of the major problem areas. We did our best in those areas to fill and sand everything smooth and they came out pretty good. This body is by no means perfect but it was enough to get the wrap looking good enough to change this car and rehab the exterior. It was wrapped with 3M Anthracite and Carbon Vinyl. Check out some of the pictures below!
