Well, push-ups and lifting things around the house isn't working anymore.

Would I be able to find a decent weight bench with weights for around $100?

What do you guys recommend for a beginner lifter?

Depends on what exactly you need. You can find cheapo standard weights/bench for $50 on cl. Olympics are a little more expensive for cheaper brands. You can buy oly weighs for $.50/lb at play it again sports, and a used oly bar for $20-60

I don't know what to look for. I just been lifting water gallons and bag full of dirt at the house.

What should I look for when buying one? I may just buy a cheap bench and then go to play it again sports and buy some weights then head over to homedepot for a bar or something.

I went to the doctor because no matter how much i workout or eat right, I dont lose weight. he said I was a low on testosterone due to poor diet and not working out the right way. He said before he puts me on testosterones he wants me to change my diet to lots more fruite and veggies. He recommended, since he had the same problem, to do bench lifting to help raise it and of course more sex (kinda hard with a four year old running around in the house). so, I just need to raise my testosterone and get rid of my man boobies, lol. not looking to become a weight lifter of 300+ lbs, just to get in better fit.

I'm not sure what to think of what said "doctors" opinion is. Most of the time these idiots don't know a damn thing about real fitness. I suggest joining a gym, and making a life change. Honestly this all comes down to how bad you really want it. When we want a new car, new pair of shoes, new I-phone, we do whatever it takes to make it happen, but when it comes to getting in shape, we have all the excuses in the world. Eat healthy, and TRAIN LIKE HELL! If you really want it bad enough, you'll do what it takes to make it happen man. There's tons and tons of info available online (just make sure it's a reputable source) to help you with everything from diet/meal planning, to training regiments.

i thought the same thing about what the doctor said, so I did a little searching myself and some of the things he said were true. I'm not on my personal computer so I cant bring the page up and quote some of it. He was cut but said he couldnt promise me his diet plan will work for that fact everyone is different. He said to play around with different plans and see which one fits me better.

The good thing is my cholesterol is normal, my blood pressure is back to normal, my lungs are still strong and my heart is healthy as well.

I want to join a gym but I have school loans to pay, bills ect. so i can't afford an extra bill. I work from 2pm-1am so, I only have between 9am-11am to work out so i can spend the other two hour with the wife, kid and get ready for work. The two days I have off work, I rest from working out for my body to relax. I do some workouts I have read on the internet that can be done at home. One of them is to buy a weight bench. I bought a punching bag, jump rope and tension belt ( I use it for shadow boxing) to help with the cardiac part. I guess I can save a few hundred and buy a good weight bench or do what SIR Mikey said.

I called my insurance and asked if they covered to see a dietitian for better help, but they don't.

fuck if i were you I'd hop on that TRT/HRT man. So many of my older friends/coworkers/clients are on it and they have such an improved life.

I remember not seeing my boss for two months and when I came back he had been on his test cyp/trt for 3 months. He lost some weight, but not just that he looked happier/was happier. He was like completely different guy in a good way. He talked to me how he dropped his viagra didnt need it, his libido was great, dick would work great, had a better aura to him. His wife was happier too. He even began playing racquetball and working on his cars.

I did notice that about myself. A year or to ago I wasn't fit, I was around 210lb now I'm at 230-240ilbs, I felt alot more active, I felt like I could fuck all night and walked with my head up high.

Now I walk kinda dropped over, I feel a less active like when my kid wants to run around i say " fuck it, I'll pretend to run" He is the one making me notice is it the most. Before I use to take him to the park, to the movies, out to walk around at the mall ect. Now its like, eh, I'll just buy him a puzzle and crap.

My wife she noticed it too. So I'm trying to get back to being active.

I really don't want to get on that meds ( I'm a pharmacy technician and know the side effects). The doc said to check back in a year, and if nothing changed, He'll put me on those meds. I really hate taking meds. Hell, I dont even like taking my inhaler.

I also learned that, If I smoke, that drops my test levels. I'm a four or five cigarettes a day kinda guy. If i'm really stressed, I can kill a pack a day.

Imo man, you should get on a solid nutrition plan and join a gym. Stop buying cigarettes and that will pay for your membership. A gym will give you the tools for big lifts and what not. I feel more motivated to work harder at a gym as well. Watching other people do work makes me wanna do the same. Hang in there man..

I wish stopping on buying cigs was that easy. Shit has a hold on me. I almost kicked the habbit back when I had some workout machines outside but my mom took it back. I would go outside for a cig then i just start to work out and forget about the cig. I was down to maybe a cig a day or If I was with friends maybe two or two and half. I try to do that now, but its hard.

I contacted that guy and he would take 60 for it, So i'll be going to check it out after work and also found a weight bench for $150 with a total of 250 lbs of weights, I'll probably pick that up aswell. do a mixture of all the work outs, rotating everyday to keep the body trained instead of getting use to it.

TRT is life changing beyond what people can imagine.

As for the OP, quitting smoking and watching what you eat will make a huge difference on your daily life. 383 is pretty damn low though. Doing what he said absolutely cannot hurt, not only for your well being but the future of your life(think of your kid). If he does prescribe test down the road though, thank your lucky stars you found a doc willing to prescribe it. Most won't since you're technically "still in range".

What kind of side effects are you expecting/hearing about from TRT?

thats exactly what Im thinking on what negative side effects he will have on trt. Nuts shutting down? They pretty much are they seem, but the doc can provide hcg. Estrogen levels outta wack? Arimidex 1mg a week will get you straight if not .5mg will.

your cig addiction is more worrying to me than the side effects of 100-200mg of testosterone is honestly.

I think the media gave Test a very horrible connotation that its steroids and bla bla bla you are cheating etc.

God damn BMX, you posted the same response I had in mind until I scrolled down lol.

The ONLY side effect 100-200mg of test may cause, is you to get weepy when you watch the notebook. As bmxican said though, arimidex or aromasin will fix that right up. A lot of endocrinologist dont even understand how to properly administer testosterone

In your defense it can, supposedly, speed up prostate cancer IF you already have it. Supposedly.

I hope for your sake he does prescribe it down the road and you take it, youll be thanking us

So this is what I've gathered from the OP. You cant afford a gym membership, but you can afford to smoke. You find it hard to be active with your kid anymore, so you just buy him things....but you can't afford a gym membership. Like I said in my original post...It comes down to how bad you really want it. I'm sure this will be taken as me being abrasive or a dick, but I'm just calling it how it is.

I don't mind the gel, alot easier for me than injection for numerous reasons, mainly, I hate needles.

The MD checked me out and I have no signs of prostate problems, He wants me to come in every 4-5 months for a prostate test while I'm on it.

I was worried before, but the more I read up on it, it does raise the chance of me getting it, but it is slim; even though it runs in my dads side of the family. As long as I don't over do it with it, I should be fine, hopfully.

It doesn't matter. The gel doesn't work well for just about everyone. You will feel like shit at some point.

And again, it is known to raise DHT considerably more than test inj. That is not good for your prostate, no matter what.

well, I ended up on the gel stuff. I have four refills on it so, after those are up. I have to go check in for a blood test. If i have to keep taking it, I'll see if I can get on the injection.

I stop reading up on this stuff do to work overload. So injection is better? he said with injection, I will only get a short burst of test and that is when the mood swings kick in. With the gel, it will be stable at all times.

Like I said if you want stable blood hormones do the injections 2-3xs a week. 2xs a week will be easy and will be super stable with minimal side effects.
