thought id share an interesting swap. i have not been taking a lot of pictures of the work but you get the idea.. its not a build thread but i can answer some curiostiy questions
b20 automatic / built trans
04 civic
small turbo soon after its running
needs to stay automatic for the costumers wife to be able to drive it.
im still working on the wiring but its pretty straight forward.
only minor nicnacs are left for it to run.
its an inexpensive swap and simple. its done in a way that it will be able to pass the emissions plugin test under protocol iso 9141-2
pictures are in no specific order.
il post more as i go or any request
here is as it currently sits

we used the d17 shift solenoids on the crv trans since they are angle up to clear the subframe. special adapter plate was used since solenoids used different bolt paterns. luckly for us they share the same resistance as the crv ones. looks like honda ran into space issues so they angled them up with the 01 and up civics

isnt that an illegal swap due to the age of engine vs age of car?

Here as it sits as of a week ago. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g149/charleericer/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsfd1aab7f.jpg. Here is where we notched the frame while setting up the engine. Il take pictures of the reinforcements tomorrow. Oil pan does not quite clear. Reinforcement is obviously crucial since that's close to the control arm pivot point

Here is axle clearance. It's very similar to stock. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g149/charleericer/image_zpsfd5c5078.jpg
This is the bottom view with no subframe attached
http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g149/charleericer/image_zpsebca962c.jpg
All accessories have I move to the front of the engine as the frame will not allow anything in the rear due the curve it follows

when you look at a k-swap em2/es1, it appears that they have more "free" space in the engine bay, Edit* then again they usually re-locate the battery, which makes it look like there is more space.

So far it had bee a tight space. The ac and power steering are what take up most of the space. But no relocation of the car components were made. We are using the crv steering pump ad ac compressor. Alternator we kept from the d17. Its comparable in labor to let's say a h22 crx. Random relocation of shit. It sounds more complex than it really is honestly

Looks right at home in there, and +100 for being different. Good job man!

Ac and power steering are done. Waiting on one axle and it's done. All components had to be put in the front. Just like stock

This piece should be done sometime next week. Il shoot a video. As soon as it's done it's getting a small ihi turbo. We are using an aem piggy to tune since we need an obd2 ecu present. An obd1 ecu will not operate the trans since it's kickdown and this one is all electronic as you all know. Does anyone here know the ratios for te Auto trans? I can't find squat.

I will say, after ive mostly dealt with the 2jz world, working where i do now, and dealing with 90% hondas, they are starting to become fun. Charlee and i have a bit of hours into this thing, but its been worth it, and the customer is going to love it.
We drove it for the first time today. And i must say wow. Even without the turbo, being all stock, it sure does get up and go, and shifts great! We have a few things here and there to tidy up/finish like one o2 sensor, and IAT, but other than that, no codes, and runs smooth. The mounts wil br softened up tomorrow as its a little rough of an idle, but thats why its called R+D right? Im thinking we are going to have to widen the factory front wheels to get some traction with the turbo setup, yet maintain that sleeper look.

213hp 200 tq . Log manifold with exhaust dump set at 5 pounds. We are still using the internal wastegate to control back pressure. No more boost until line pressure goes up on trans. Not there yet. Tons of torque. Super fun todrive. It drivers it self.
