Wondering which engine would be a good choice for puttin a turbo setup on?
Got a 94 EG and thinkin about a B16a or a b18 GSR
Also looking at a 95 Teg w/a H22 in it. Whats the comp ratio on those?
As for turbo.... not looking for a full screamer.... I'd likely still be driving this around... but like a bit of boost..... or one that I can control for street, and bump it up now n then. Looking at Turbonetics.

GSR for sure.
how about a 2.0L GSR with an ls crank and a gt30R with the .63 housing for good response. That sounds like a fun motor.

GSR, the H's have get funky rings from the ductile iron cylidnders they have in them. And the B16... well no tourqe. But IMO, whats affordable.

From personal experience, i'd have to say GSR or Type R honestly. Lots of these turbos out there can make power WELL up into the powerband, so the ability to rev through your whole powerband is a plus.
THe amount of TQ difference between my 1.8 and 2.0 setups was nearly negligible (like 20lb/ft) so dont stress over that to much.

The H gots a comp ratio of 10:1 sh is a little more, And the ring glands suck! personnal expeirence.

If your looking to boost on the stock block pick up a a USDM GSR or B16 but not a H22. The ringlands on the H22 stock do not like boost and will surely blow if you push too much PSI for a extended perriod of time.

G-S-R.... All the wayyyyy...

why not build the B16 block instead of spending the extra cash on a GSR. By slightly building the block I'm sure you can push more psi to those pistons. Pistons/rings/connecting rods should be upgraded....... We all know how much more GSR's are going for no in day's almost 1k of a difference and for this you wont be able to boost as much.

u have to match the LS rods to a LS crank or it wont work

gsr ftw. it has a great r/s ratio
yeah the gsr does have a great r/s ratio. If your going for r/s ratio why bother with a b18 get your self a b16b if your looking for a small stroke rev machine.

i've done LS turbo B20 turbo B20 VTEC turbo and Itr turbo.
Have had nothing but great results from the last.
They got better and better as I went along... I'd recommend a GSR/ITR build.

Boosted H23. Works well if you know what your doing. And all these people who hate H22/H23's just dont like them because they dont understand the way they work under boost. If you do things correctly you can run 10 psi on a stock block and have it last. Tuning is everything when it comes to boosting. VTEC is way overrated.

h22 can handle about 10psi pretty well if tuned right...no internals...
h22 a is 10-8-1
h22a1 and a7 is 11-1
