Fresh R for the car

i just installed my new tranny! i smashed my third synchro on my old ITR tranny. i went ahead and bought a new one from ICB. the install wasn't hard except for the sub frame. i replaced my old clutch with exedy organic stage one and pressure plate. we filled up the tranny with Honda fluid then drove around the block and filled it again since the tranny's never had fluid in it before it consumes some. then we gave the clutch the dragster break in (burn it a little.). prob not the best way but i just couldn't wait to feel it. It feels like driving a Type R off of the lot.

let me solidify that this is a brand NEW JDM type-R tranny with 0 miles Jap vins. i was the first to open the box, touch it, and drive it. Fresh LSD mmmmm.

it is true, both have LSD, same gear ratios, and the same final drive.

sorry not exactly... your all wrong. they all are very similar but the ITR/CTR 4th, 5th, and 6th are significantly different.

a brand new one is a grip! also i wouldnt really bolt that tranny up to a k20a3. i would get a k24, k20a2 or k20a ready for it first.

With a little research the stock ep3 transmission can be overhauled with different gearing, lsd of your choice installed, and 6th gear added. all you need is part #s and someone with transmission rebuilding skills.
mad props on ITR trans, thats the way to go.

that would cost just as much or more in OEM parts. the 2nd gear set for a type s is over $400 alone not to mention you would need 5 other gears becase NONE of the gears in the EP3 tranny match the type r gear ratios.. the LSD from a new SI is $800 .... f that.

might as wwell just buy the type r tranny new from ICB and know that it has never been taken apart. assembled by honda. good to go.

he better save up his money cause its the most expensive swap for a sprt compact. when i say sprt compact i mean not just honda.

the gears wont match the revs... not a good idea on a a3 without kpro. you will fall out of vtec with every shift.
