F430 Ferrari's have a manettino switch on the steering wheel, or a drive: response/ feel selection, if you will.

This changes the Throttle response, Suspension ride, and Shift response in milliseconds.

when in the street or sport modes, gear shifts can be made in an incredible 250 milliseconds: pretty damn fast if you ask me.

BUT... when the dial is turned to the Race mode, Gear shifts are completed in astounishing times, close to that of F1 open wheeled cars. around 150 milliseconds to be exact. F1 Ferarris shift in the fraction of a blink = 50 milliseconds.

now, someone tell me that H pattern is superior to Paddel Shift... lol

now, someone tell me that H pattern is superior to Paddel Shift... lol I had the pleasure of lending a hand of a close friend of mines show working on one of them... OMG I could go on & on about it, the the electro magnetic clutch acutation is nuts... Not only does it decrease the time it takes to switch from gear to gear, but it changes where & when the clutch is engaged from a stop...Like say in the least race setting, the clutch will engage (from a stop) at about 1500rpms( @ about 30% ) and be fully engaged around 2200rpms... Sport the clutch won't begin to engage untill about 2000rpms and be fully engaged around 2700 rpms.. Now in Race mode the clutch engages at 3400rpms and is fully engaged at 5500-6Krpms..

It truely is amazing, the computer will feather the clutch for you when you need it...

In the case if the Ferarri it is turely an awesome system, but most other automakers just install glorified slushbox trannys with neat padels on the wheels...

exactly right. There are only two Manufacturers on the market today that produce these type of "clutchless systems"

Ferraris F1 mission shifter.

and WV/ AUDI's DSG or "double clutcher" system

I'd still rather have a 6speed. I've been in a 355, the first year the F1 box came out and it was a horrible system, its come a long way though, the 360 and 430 software is awesome now...

"To all the losers how dare compare a F430 to a S2000 or RX8: Get lost!

Don't get me wrong, the S2000 and RX8 are greats cars. I have driven them on many occasions and their engine is trully magnificient. However what makes a Ferrari today is not only his engine. Suspensions, handling, braking, steering all those things are mastered in the f430. I mean just get the Top Gear video of the car. For once I agree with Clarckson: Ferrari is just at another level. "

This guy obviousely doesent know whats up!
