alright... well my civic runs pretty good for my DD and gets the job done for sure... BUT for a long time ago it would kinda putt at the tops of 3-5 gears.... didnt think much of it... but now... it does it in all gears over about 3k rpm's... my tachometer goes crazy... the car putts... and sometimes even gets some real loud detenation.... everyone in my family works on chevy's so no help there.... any advice?

distributor.. ?? take the cap off and look for copper coil that might have broken off. which usually means time for a new dizzy

its a dohc zc, dizzy for a 86-89 teg work?

it turns over fine, and drives but it does that put put shit when the rpm's get higher... that happen allot?

it shouldnt happen at all, first things i would check are the distributor, see if the coil is breaking apart, than check the spark plugs. and wires. see if oil is getting into the spark plug cylinders. than if thats all fine, than you might be throwing a code.. , but its hard to say over the internet.

my ses light is good, the ecu light isnt blinking, i just changed the gaskets to the spark plugs, no oil there.... it sounds allot like just a ton of misfiring....

where do i look on the dizzy? there's no coil?

u have to take off the cap to look its kinda looks like a copper spring coming from the base
