Can someone help me out here.... by giving me some pointers and what not to accomplish this...

i want to do a mild-easy tuck... nothing difficult but to make my baby look a little better then it does....

jsut to get all the engine harness out of the way and some intake vaccum hoses and maybe battery ? idk... any ideas/tips would be great !

thanks

I believe the easiest way to "tuck" the battery is to just relocate it to the trunk/hatch. Granted, I am by no means a wiring expert and my engine bay is far from tucked but I bought a battery box and mounted it in the back of my rex.

Then just run your positive cable (if you want to be ghetto, you can buy a set of jumper cables and just cut off the ends to use for cable) from the engine bay, through the fire wall, under the carpet along the door(s) and into the trunk. At this point, you can use a fuse box if you are running amps, etc and it will make it easier to hook up.

From there, run the positive cable from the fuse box to the battery. Then, run a grounding cable from the battery to the chassis. I just drilled a hole into the chassis in the back, sanded down the surface and bolted it in with some washers. You now have power, the choice to run amps if you want and no battery in the engine bay. Oh, I believe there are regulations for how the box is mounted if you are going to be racing at a drag strip so you might want to look into that. I haven't been in years but I got dinged for that the first time I went because the battery box wasn't bolted through the chassis. I had to run a kill switch on "the rear most part of the vehicle" as well.

Hope this helped...
