I was given my Step-Dads 82 GS750E TSCC after it had sat for about 3 years (it was replaced with a Harley). The rebuild process has been moving quickly so I thought I'd create a log to document the changes. I'll post more pics later but for now here is what I've finished tonight.

Replacing the head and base gasket

Ya I have lots of plans. As you can see (although it's dirty) I made the paint Ultra-Flat Black. I need to drop it a bit. Should be fun. I took the gauges apart and completely refinished them. The needles are now House of Kolor Red Metallic rather than faded amber.

Today was mostly cosmetic as the the new bars came in and the head hasn't been dropped off yet. Since I was about to paint the triple black I figured I'd see how the bike looked gloss black rather than flat black.

Of course nothing good ever comes without a little bad it seems. I snapped two bolts, both lower triple on the left side (pretty sure I'll need to replace it now) and the bolt holding the brake lines on the lower triple. Not too bad considering I planned on replacing the fork seals anyway.

I still want to get the wheels off so I can make them black as well. Hopefully I can get the head to a machine shop tommorrow.

Pics!
