i've read in a couple places that jdm zc pm7 pistons can be dropped into a z6 and make a 12.0:1 compression ratio with a bit of tuning.
is this reliable? will it run on 91 octane?

its been done a lot...and makes good power for a stock sleeve n/a d series

Yes and yes. You'll be able to make some solid numbers. Toss in a full Crower head package and a Crower Stage 2 and you'll be surprised. :)
