Starts But Wont Start Back Up?

Hey My 90 Da Sometimes It Will Start, Then When I Shut It Off Then Try To Start It Back Up Again, It Starts Then It Shutsoff And Wont Start Back Up After Like A Few Minutes. I Dont Know What The Hell It Is. I Took It To Get Emissions Done And When The Guy Tried To Start It For The Test It Didnt Want To Start. They Had To Push The The Dam Thing. This Sucks. So Let Me Know What You Think It Might Be. Thanks

check spark plugs, wires, dizzy, etc.

fuel pump relay (aka main relay ).
next time it does it take your gas cap off and releive the tank pressure . if the car starts that is for sure your problem . if it does not start then could be something else . I have had several da's and ef's with this issue.

sometimes the neutral safety switch acts up on automatics and all it will do is click.

im gonna go with main relay for the loss.

ok... try to see if the ground on the starter is loose... cuz that happen to me, i had to push and start the car to get it going haha

i had a very similar problem. it ended up being my starter. Sometimes the car would start and other times it wouldnt. at times it would go for weeks and then all of a sudden it would randomly not start and i would have to push start or jump it. Progressively it got worse and i replaced starter then no more problems!
