Ok heres the story my dad took his truck to get its breaks fixed and he got it back today he left it there over the weekend. They charge my dad $300 bucks for everything and my dad says it still feels a little stiff when you go to step on the breaks I'm guessing those bitches didn't bleed the system out.

Hes asking me if he could take his truck to tsp to let them bleed it out I'm like I dunno I have to talk with'em.

All suggestion and comments are welcome guys.LMK

How come he didn't just do it himself? Soooo much cheaper

felt stiff? thats not usually a sign of poorly bled brakes.

Spongy brake pedal = air in lines = bad bleed

If there is Air in the lines the pedal would feel spongy and unresponsive. The pedal should feel stiff and after gettin new brakes it usually feels different since you just got good brakes instead of the shitty old worn out ones that were just taken off.

Why because he has a truck and normal jack won't probable work.

normally hard brake pedal is due to vacuum booster prob. or vacuum line.

dude! I owned a 95 yota!! 4x4 action! You can use a standard 2ton jack to lift it!

You could jack it up or, since its a truck, just lay under it. All u have to do is turn a bleed screw. I could bleed the brakes on my crx if i wanted to without a jack. so im sure you could get to a truck.

well im a car noob so i take my car places to get serviced...i kinda feel you on the ripped off part, every time i get my oil changed i always wondering if they are actually putting the "good" stuff in or the cheapo generic brand, id never be able to tell the difference beside the price!

i guess doing things yourself are the only way to really know

BACKWARDS. air in brakes feels squishy and ir-responsive (I'm pretty sure I just made that word up, but you know what I mean...)

My dad would have made me change his brakes, then kicked my ass cause he almost hit a snowbird because his brakes felt "stiffer than my johnson"

I say bleed the brakes and eliminate your first question. Then always do your corn pop's brakes for him.

brakes usually feel stiffer when new pads are on cause the piston doesnt have to travel as much to push the pad against the rotor

stiff brakes are good! Most people would kill to have stiff brakes.

Sounds like your dad was just used to driving on shitty brakes for so long that he got used to them.
