Real performance/sports cars have fixed roofs for obvious reasons.

Convertible versions of real performance cars are just gay versions of their hardtop counterparts.

Only exceptions are the S2K and possibly the Miata because they where origianally only offered as a convertible.

Examples:

350Z convertible= Gay
Mustang Convertible = Gay
Camaro Convertible = Gay

I you're not buying a car soley from a performace stand point, or are atleast not claiming you really care about balls-out performance, then go ahead and buy a convertible.

I won't lie, if someone wanted to give me an Aston Martin DB9 Convertible I wouldn't say no. But then again I'd just take it and trade it for a coupe if I didn't have one already.

Basically I'm saying cars with chopped tops that need added stiffening "to reduce cowl shake" are gay. Or are for people like my Dad who's in his late 50's and could care less how well his car tracks going into turn 1.

Cars designed from the outset as convertibles such as the S2K, Miata, are not.

I guess if that means "roadster" then yes.

miatas and s2k are true "roadsters" or "sports cars"
so they are awesome.
Any car (with the exception on some exotics) that was orginally designed as a coupe then later made into a convertible model always has issues.

trust me, there is nothing better than having the top down on my car (miata), and doing some bad ass donuts or burnouts while hearing the whole thing not hampered by a roof, and the fact that when i look in the rear view mirror all i see is roll bar, thats pretty cool too IMO.the world needs more small, light, rwd vehicles.
